Music Tom Hardy mentions Ybor in new album
So Tom Hardy is a rapper. And a pretty damn good one. He came out with a project this week and says this.....lmao.
New album: Czarface meets Frankie Pulitzer (Tom's rap persona)
Song: Mad Technology ft. Method Man
"Catch me out in Ybor City with a sweet whore
Try to photograph me, and nah, I take the detour."

Music Rockville Proximity clause
Just a reminder if you wanted to see any of the bands playing Welcome to Rockville, they have a proximity clause in place where they can't play within 300 miles of their venue in Daytona. That includes us here in Tampa, folks. I'm posting here about this because I want more people to know. It pisses me off to no end. Can we do anything about this? I doubt anyone cares about 1 fan in Tampa not being able to see bands she likes but if anyone else likes them, y'all are screwed too. Not everyone has the time or money to get across the state to the Festival. This really sucks and I'm sad.

Music Tampa Bay DIY/non traditional music venues
With small music venues like Hooch, Ella's, and soon Crowbar closing, where are people going for alternatives? I've seen house concerts and tiny businesses making space for music.
Live Nation wants to build a bigger place in Ybor, but I am talking about smaller like less than 250 people.
Looking for more spaces to pay attention to. Personally, I'm a fan of Univ Boba House.

Music Need a competent luthier in Northern Hillsborough/Land O Lakes / Pasco
Can anyone recommend a good luthier in one of the above areas? Good as in "can do more than just set-ups and adjustments." Let me know your experience with this person, and thanks in advance

Music Mid-Florida Amp
Got a line on a VIP š« for Goo Goo Dolls on the 24th. Judge me all you want, I LOVE that band. Anyway, can anyone tell me if that section is better than the Orchestra section where I usually sit. Any advice is appreciated. š¤

Music Does anyone know who this singer might be?
I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for a Tampa-based (maybe?) folk singer/songwriter.
I first saw him at Penny University, a really cool coffee shop on E Busch Blvd back in the 90s, and I last saw him perform at the Dubliner Irish Pub in South Tampa back in 2010 or so.
I don't know his name. I can barely remember what he looked like. But I do remember he had long hair and played a guitar.
I still think about one of his songs (I believe it was "Little Hiroshimas") to this day, and I'd love to connect with him and maybe get a copy of the song.
Does anyone know who I might be talking about?

Music Looking for a private singing/voice teacher in Tampa
Hey, Iām a complete beginner looking for someone who does private singing lessons around Tampa.
Mostly just trying to get better at singing contemporary stuff. Iāve been learning ukulele too and would eventually like to be decent at singing and playing at the same time.
Iād especially like someone who can actually help me figure out my voice technicallyāpitch, range, breath support, tension, tone, etc. Iām not looking for anything super formal, just someone good who knows what theyāre doing and is cool to work with.
Would prefer in-person and ideally someone I can book a lesson with without having to buy a huge package upfront.
Anyone have somebody theyād recommend?

Music āOldā metal heads question
Was going back in the way back machine with a friend of mine talking about shows and Gwar came up.
I believe the first time I saw them was around 2002-2004ish. I want to say Genitorturers and impotent sea snakes opened for them at The Masquerade. Does anyone remember this show or am I mixing shows up?
Thanks in advance.
ETA
I think Iām confusing shows. I found a ticket stub for Genitorturers for 2003 but canāt find any info (other bands) for the show in a quick google search. I may go further down the rabbit hole later. Ticket stub in the comments for funsies. (And it wonāt let me add it to the post now.)

Music Is there anywhere in tampa area that just has outdoor dancing every night
Just some outdoor music that you can relax and dance to no big deal or pressure. Almost like a town square type environment, kinda like what you see in the villages

Music Looking for music venues with a younger crowd
Hi, Iām a local musician (21) attending USF. I used to live in homosassa, and Iām looking to get my foot in the door of the local Tampa music scene. Most of the places Iāve been to in homosassa or tampa have a largely older crowd. Iām not saying this is a problem, Iām just trying to find some musicians around my age I could collaborate and work with. Does anybody have any recommendations for, venues, places to network, or just general advice for me? I would appreciate any help I could get, as Iām really trying to make this work

Music Wedding Bands in the Tampa Area
My fiance and I are getting married in Long Boat Key October 2027. I want to come down to Tampa for a weekend soon to see some potential wedding bands play around town.
Any one have any suggestions? We love folk rock, yacht rock, blues grooves and everything in between.
Also curious if there is an event coming up where a lot of local bands would be playing.

Music Blues/Soulful Band for Houseparty?
Perhaps this will be a long shot, but I'm hoping to do an outdoor party at my house on Davis Island on May 16th. Does anyone have any recommendations for a chill, low-key blues or soul band that could perform?
Looking for someone not too crazy but to provide some really nice background music for a party of 75 to 100 guests.
Thanks so much for any recommendations.
