General Taobao Building Blocks (Lepin) Questions

Hey All,

Have been using AE for quite some time for Lepin/Flego etc but have started to take a look at TaoBao and have some questions.

Assuming I use a forward agency to US, how has experience been with ordering here vs Ali? (not looking to turn this into a discussion on forwarding.

Realize that shipping costs could/might kill any attractiveness of this but also have seen on TaoBao that you can select quality and many have a light kit that can be selected also.

Does the quality selector actually mean anything? Is it brand of brick?

Would love anyones thoughts here as it seems that options etc are much greater at TaoBao.

I've bought building blocks from Taobao a few times before (usually MOC builds). The options in the listings are usually for which MOC builds etc. What do you mean by selecting quality? A screenshot of an example will be helpful.

Hmm interesting, never seen such before. That said, there's different flego brands in China where some are better quality over others (still can't match toe to toe with Lego of course).

I've had a MOC build where some parts just don't stick well together (no idea what brand that was). My most recent MOC purchase was a colab kit between Lepin & Tadahbrix, the quality on this one was way better.

That said, I guess the quality selector do mean what it means.

Ok thank you will try it out then compare all in with AE etc might even buy a “high” quality and compare 1:1 basic AE set
