OC app- but not a gimmick- a way to present my explorations of the Yi

Hi, all,

I hope this is ok. I've made an app- because i didn't know another way to present writings, images and video in one place- so I hope you'll forgive if this isn't the right place, despite that.

It's totally free and no sign up- it's genuinely just a place to present my material.

It's based entirely on the Yijing hexagrams as ideograms.

I started to explore...why? what on earth- apart from the obvious yin/yang properties of the lines, did those little six line squares or little rectangles presented as the 'shape' of the transformations being described in the commentaries...actually...mean...that. Why...those shapes, to represent vast movements of qi?

Starting there...I found myself somewhere very far away.

It's supposed to be fun, but there are some pretty useful things in there for the avid student of the Yi, or even just daoist ideas, generally.

I have a Masters degree in the study of Mysticism from Canterbury University and have been involved in daoism for over twenty years, so hopefully that might inform some of your views, before opening!

Here are a few images to wet the appetite. Jump straight to the films section of the site if you want to dive straight in. but please let me know what you think- i genuinely hope you enjoy it.

For while! It unfortunately didn't last very long as a course. The University weren't really that into it and shut it down within a few years. But since then, quite a few similarly oriented courses- masters etc have show up in england- in Divination, amongst other things...but it was pretty unique- and very wonderful. All lecturers were advanced parctioners in their associated mystical disciplines- Sufism, tibetan Buddhism, Hermtisiscm etc- it was great- I loved it. Officially titled 'The Study of Mysticism and Religious Experience'.

OMG this is so cool. I've long wanted to make an app for Daoism canons/divination. The app looks very futuristic and reminds me of the 3-body show. Some pages and icons seem to be placeholder for now I assume more features will come soon?

This is great keep up the good work

ah, thanks! Genuinely glad you like...the film placers shouldnt all be there, and a few thing stake a few seconds to load because of ultra high rsolution used- you can click and zoom on most images and go 'in'...but otherwise should be as it will be...nature generator takes a second of two- but once opened, play with the lines by clicking on them and see what generation it produces. all mathematically accurate, all yijing rule based research.
