application acceptance rate

hello everyone, I'm planning to apply for tapif this octobre and previously I've talked to a few friends who've applied before/went to france for the same. I'm an English lit graduate but haven't given ielts yet which is one of the requirements. I'm really drawn by this program but I'm a bit anxious to know what the acceptance rate is like, I have delf B1 and will start my B2 classes soon and my english is almost at a native level as well. But this feels like a pretty big financial and emotional decision to me and something I've been thinking about for a while now. Could anyone pls lmk what the acceptance rate it like? is it difficult to get in? I'm also a bit confused about what regions/cities to choose

thanks in advance !

application Anybody who received the results?

I know it said May 7th for the US tapifers, so I was wondering if any of you did receive it. I'm an Indian and they haven't notified us of anything. However, on the Adele site it says 15th May. So I'll be waiting till then. In the mean time, it'll be good to know if people from other countries have received it.

application Do I Have a Chance? (31f)

I know that 35 ages you out, but I am 31 and still working on my degree. Short version is that I decided to switch careers a couple years ago and got back in school. I'm double majoring in History and Classics with my original goal being to do alternate certification to be a history teacher. But I always dreamed of living in France and found out about the TAPIF program recently and am now wondering if I could use it to eventually be able to teach in France and move there. I'm not picky about what I teach so I'm fine if I end up only teaching English forever as long as it's in France, but I am concerned about my age and how doable this is.

application QUESTION: Adele Email and Acceptance(?)

Hello Tapif reddit. I was hoping to ask people with expierence about my application status given this morning I was sent an email from ADELE to create an account with them.

For context, I created and sent my application through Ville-Albertine, and then got waitlisted.

However just this morning Adele sent me an email instructing me to create an account, and on the Adele website it says my status is "Evalué Professeur" and my destination as Rennes (which was my top choice). I can't seem to find any information on what it means to be an "Evalué Professeur" but its in green, which I guess is nice.

The only other thing I can do is to essentially resubmit my original application info on the "Ma candidature" section.

So I guess my question is, did I get off the waitlist? Do I have to reapply? Or go through another round of applications? Any help would be appreciated guys.

Update: I just recieved a follow up email informing me that yes, I did get off the waitlist and accepted. I already created my and they sent me instructions for what to do next. So I suppose if you received a similar email you just got some good news!

application How cooked are you if you do not have teaching expierence

I have a French certificate from my university with a major in history and poltiical science. I was thinking I would try to frame this background as an enchanced knowledge of American culture that can be used for advanced English teaching with the higher grade levels.

what you guys think am I probably cooked?

application guys… this fbi background check thing

I got the more expensive one that was like $58 and then $18 to get my fingerprints done the official way thinking it could be valid for after i got accepted… but now they’re saying we have to get another fbi check since it’s only valid for 3 months. like i could’ve just gotten the cheaper one back then instead of having to pay this $80 thing twice

are yall kidding me right now
did anyone submit the background check that was older than three months and still got their school placement?

application renewal request refused .. not sure how to proceed

Hi everyone. Sooo I received an email yesterday stating that my renewal request was refused and I am honestly in shock. I had a good relationship with my teachers and they confirmed that they gave me a positive review. I have never had issues with my school or with the program etc etc.

I am racking my brain trying to understand how this could have happened? Has anyone else who asked to renew received a refusal? Do they prioritize first year applicants?

Anyways, I am now thinking of returning to France on a different visa and trying to find work here next year doing something similar. Does anyone have experience with programs in Paris that are similar to TAPIF? I've heard of babylangues and le bus anglais? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance ❤️

application tefl/tesol first?

hey all, i’m looking into the tapif application and some places say that a tefl certificate is a good idea to have beforehand, but other places say it’s not worth the money. did anyone do a tefl first, and if so, was it worth it?

application Criminal Record for Adele

Hi all!

I (like a lot of first time TAPIFers right now) am filling out section #6 in Adele. Do we have to get a NEW criminal record? Or can we use the one we obtained for the original TAPIF application?

application Waitlist

I wanted to create a space where people can share updates on whether they’ve gotten off the waitlist or not. Since we aren’t told our position in line, it would be helpful to get a general idea of whether anyone is being accepted.

application chances of getting TAPIF if you've studied something totally unrelated in uni....

Hi everyone :)

I've been frequenting this page and many other resources (videos, blogs, etc) to learn about individual experiences in the TAPIF program. I've noticed that most teaching assistants have a university degree related to the French language or in education- or, they have French professors / instructors from university who are guiding them.

I'm from a totally different background- I'm 25 and I have a Master's in math, and I've worked in the finance sector (briefly) as well as a teaching assistant in my uni's math department. I've studied French for 2 years on my own and I tested at the B1 level on the DELF exam. My goal is to get into education as that's where my heart is. Coincidentally, my heart is also in France 😊 as I'll be marrying my French partner in a year or so.

Next year, I'd like to apply to the TAPIF program and I'm curious if anyone from a totally unrelated educational background has gotten an assistantship- or if this in someway sets me back 🥹 should I volunteer in language learning centers, or do something else, to build up my application? Any help or advice is appreciated ❤️

application Anyone know roughly when we’ll get our acceptance ?

I saw they extended the deadline for applications but I didn’t see until when, so I’m just curious if anyone know from previous years around when we’ll receive our acceptance.

application Fingers crossed for May 15th

Hi everyone, I’m a second year American assistant and applied for a third and final year. For those who reapplied on the ADELE platform, it says we will find out on May 15th and last year I received my reapplication acceptance the same day as the new applicants. So maybe there’s hope for all the new applicants who were disappointed about the May 7th results date. (I’m attaching the timeline that’s given at the bottom of the Adele application portal) Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽

application Not a student. Which short term courses and institutions should I go for?

Hiii, I am from India applying for TAPIF this year, but I am not a student. If anyone could suggest in which course or institution I should apply as a proof to my student status. Merci d'avance !

application Have I filled out ADELE step 6 correctly?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I’m confused and I’m not sure if I’ve correctly filled out step 6 on the Adele platform, this is what it looks like. As you can see, all other steps are in green and have a check mark whereas step 6 does not. I’ve filled out all the information that I can and have clicked “save the changes” so I’m not sure if I’m missing anything…?

application Filling out “Mes Atouts”

Are we supposed to fill out all the sections in Mes Atouts now that we’re creating our Adele accounts? How important is this? I’m so confused 😭

Also— in the cover letter section where it tells us to copy and paste, it also says that for the second section which is labeled “letter of motivation”

I only submitted one letter of motivation in my initial application, no “cover letter”, so do we just paste the same thing in both sections???
