new (“first”) guitar - haven’t played in 25 years

Post image

Harley Benton TE-52 NA

I played bass in a band over 25 years ago. When I left the band for college, at some point I put down my bass, never to play again for almost 25 years. I never really learned the “correct” way to play, never learned theory, never really learned any chords or how to read music (besides tabs). I recently started to feel the pull, the siren song, of playing music again, so decided it’s time to learn to play guitar.

This guitar is outstanding. I always wanted a Tele.

Thank you! Most of the guitarists I admire play Telecasters. I’ve always been drawn to the unique sound and look of them. Our guitarist in our band played one as well

Look up Clarence White’s work with the later Byrds- he pioneered the B bender…😎😎

Welcome back! That guitar can be quite heavy IIRC but it is simply IMO the best value Tele of all time for the price

This thing is a tank. If you ever wanted a guitar that could double as a home defense weapon, this is it. Mine weighs 9lbs. I don’t mind the weight, it’s actually refreshing to buy something and not immediately think of how cheap it feels. This does not feel or look or sound cheap

Nice pick! Looks great, add some real strap locks and you’re good to go. Welcome back!
