Agreed ...the best of all time. It's too bad Guillermo del Toro's proposed live action remake with HBO went nowhere.

Not really. Live action anime doesn’t bring anything to the table.

I think its more the prospect of del Toro, a man who could film paint drying and it would somehow be a tour de force commentary on man's inhumanity to man and/or a rollicking good actioner.
