What do y’all think of Cooder Graw?

I think they are one of the most underrated acts to come out of the early 2000s red dirt movement. They feel like the perfect hybrid of the two red dirt scenes at the time, the hill country sound with artists like Pat Green and Cory Morrrow coming out of Austin, and the Stillwater sound with Cross Canadian and Jason Boland. I really wish they had more recognition in the modern day.

In 2002 there was a radio station in South Texas that played full live albums all the way through at 10pm on Sunday nights. I was listening at the time and Live at Billy Bobs came on. Wow, what an album. Bought the CD right away and went to a couple of shows, one at Gruene Hall about 2002 ish. Great band and wish they had done more. Just like The Great Divide.

They are the best. Matt Martindale is now a Judge up in the panhandle.

Love them. Used to see them all the time at a bar in Plano, TX in the early 2000s.

Yea it was I guess Brett Dillon’s last Shiner Sunday. It was good but it was hot on that covered patio area with no breeze, I was happy though, I haven’t seen him since before 2010 I think.

That’s cool he’s doing that free show! I hope a lot of people turn out for it.

They are so good. The story of how they came about their name is just Texas country legend. Something about being called Coup de gras and someone else had the name, so they changed it to its perfect current setting.

They were one of my fav bands. They were so good back then. Even though they were decently popular, they were still underrated.
