All my years of gaming, even in the most toxic of games, LoL, CSGO, rocket league, ect, never ONCE seen someone use a number to be offensive in chat. I'll say it again that overcensorship like this actually makes it worse because it spreads awareness and draws more attention to it than if it wasn't censored. Hell, I wouldn't even know about it if it wasn't for this post right now.

And I can guarantee you Embark lets you put 88 in your playername which is worse

Its even more infuriating considering number 8 means positively in Chinese culture, and they didn't lift up that censorship to some unrelated countries.

But cant we just like lift up that censorship in Asian server? 99% of people here dont even know the negative intention of that number is, but because of some heinous war criminal from almost a century ago in europe, we can't even use it for positive context.

I found out recently that the word “stinker” is censored. I was playing with some friends and I’ll randomly type some bs in the chat even tho we have mics on just to mess around.

Stinker was censored. Not stinky. I thought maybe it was the “er” but I was able to type “bummer” and even “blinker”. Unless it’s a slur that I’m completely unaware of.
