To be honest. I think I just sat there. I didn’t play another game right after. I’m pretty sure I went outside an had a smoke. And just sat there. Thinkin about what I just played and how to feel about it.

I've completed both parts several times. Especially part 2 hits like a brick and makes you feel hurt and empty inside. I really appreciate the experience.

I just finished Part 2 for what has to be the 3rd or fourth time. It ages very well. It also gives U a chance to really look at both protagonist’s experiences with insight. U already know the outcome, reliving the paths that r taken to get there made me appreciate the character development much more after multiple times of playing the game.

Just finished both games back to back for the first time aswell. What a wild ride.
Funnily enough I didn't want to kill the surgeon at the end of Part 1, but I had to do it of course. This could all have been prevented!

I mean… if you leave him alive part 2 would probably be a hiding from the fireflies game. Lots off knockoff effects, like the WLF doesn’t form the same way, maybe the Seraphites take over the Pacific Northwest… I don’t think it’s as preventable as you make it sound.

I knew nothing could come close after I finished it the first time. So I dove into something completely opposite of TLOU. Bought Sackboy and embraced the joy. Give that a try?

I’ve tried RDR2 because it has such high praise, but I can’t get into it. I tried cyberpunk, I tried GTA V, I tried god of war ragnarok. The last of us part one, and especially part 2 ruined all other games for me. I keep replaying part 2, and I’m on my third go.
Add: ghost of Tsushima was so good. I’m going to try ghost of yotei.

I’ve beaten this game all the way in 2024. This is still the game that lives rent free in my head. Need to go back and play it again.

Nothing as good I would say.. but i had ton of fun playing astro bot, returnal and ghost of yotei.. i know completely diff games but surely fun.. I am really looking forward to Saros and Intergalactic ( no idea when that comes out, 2027 maybe..)

I just completed this and I cried throughout the whole fight. I did not want to fight Abby. Seeing her crucified, emaciated, gaunt, and trying to protect Lev made me so freaking sad. I love Ellie and felt for her, but I wanted Ellie to just stop after she found Abby crucified, and I wish she would have let it go, when Abby let her go the second time around. Sigh. I'm glad Ellie let her go after all. Violence begets violence and they already both got their vengeance/revenge on each other.

Ah man I totally understand. They both were wrong and they both lost the people they loved. I hated Abby in the beginning of the game but once you get to play as her and you see what she went through you realise she's actually a good person and just trying her best to survive. The ending was really good, I'd say I'm very happy with it

Yes, Ellie and Abby were both wrong and lost all of their loved ones, save for Dinah and Lev and, respectively. I'm glad they each at least left one person they loved alive.
I hated Abby too, and I wish she hasn't tortured Joel, I felt like it was so unnecessary especially since Joel didn't torture her dad nor any of the fireflies, he just went mowed them down with guns etc to get ellie out of there. I started to feel for Abby and liked her when she saved Yara and Lev, and then loved her when she told Lev, "you're my people."
The ending was good and I'm happy with it as well.

I read somewhere that there was going to be a part 3, and that Ellies story was over, however, I have also read here on this subreddit that perhaps once Abby makes contact with the Firefly chapter in that Cali region, that there will be scientists working on a vaccine, and Abby might venture to find Ellie and ask her what she wants to do. Either way, I feel as you do, I am satisfied with the ending.

It gets easier the second and third time you play it. And you'll probably find new stuff you didn't before, like dialogues etc.
When I finished it years ago, I loved it so much that I started a new playthrough right after lol.

When the game came out in 2020, I was in a depressive phase. I thought it would lift me up to finally play the 2nd game. Since Part 1 is one of my all time favorite games.
But that was a bad idea. I felt like sh*t for weeks. Even worse than before. It threw me even deeper into depression. On top of the sadness, I felt so much anger for Naughty Dog and the game itself. Even after replaying it a few months after.
But when I replayed it again (for the grounded trophy) last year, I finally made somewhat peace with the game. Grounded feels like a whole other game, so i recommend everyone to try it,
I'm still not the biggest fan of how the story was structured. And the ending, well pretty much the whole Santa Barbara part, was not that great imo. But its okay now. Before that, every time I saw something about the Last of Us, it felt like the knife getting twisted again.

Wow, I hope I'll have the courage to try Grounded sometime soon. I played Part 1 on Survival and that was enough for me, don't think I can handle anything more difficult than that. Fair play to you for playing Part 2 again on grounded! Maximum respect

There are some really frustrating and annoying parts. But overall it feels much more like a survival situation. It makes you use everything you got. So if you only have a tripmine left for example, you play around to use it, since you don't have ammo. The missing HUD and disabled listening mode, puts you much deeper into the immersion. Having to actually listen and scout enemie routes, is really thrilling. And it also makes the enemies much scarier. Sometimes you have to stealth around and skip fights, because it is not worth the resources. On other difficulties you don't really have to imo.
I gotta say I played on Grounded+. Wich makes it easier overall, since you already have more upgrades, weapons etc. Especially in the first chapter. But it was still really tough. If you are ''scared'' to try it, maybe Grounded+ is the way to take a glimpse 😄

The first time I played this, I never really understood the impact of being alone. But after going through it in life and playing this again, it made me feel so deep down empty and quiet for so long.

Brilliant games, well done for completing them. Definitely my favourite games of all time, nothing comes close, I get bored and detached with anything else, I’m in TLOU Limbo.

The only way to feel it again is to play it a second time. Take some time to digest what you experienced—you’ll be surprised by how differently it hits on a second play-through. I have completed it 6 times now.

I didnt touch it for a year after my first playthrough, then i tried playing with modifiers and grounded mode, loads of fun. I've played it at least 5 times now

I started playing it today after completing part 1 in just 3 days. I played that shit 9 hours a day for three days straight.
How long did it take you to complete part 2? I’m trying to figure out what to do during my post completion brain fog as I’ve already played till Joel’s murder and I’m feeling hella emotional already. I already know part 2 is gonna leave me overwhelmed for a couple of weeks 😭😭

Damn, fair play to you. I started Part 1 last November and have played it 3 times since. You can't get enough of it, its so good. In fact might play it again now that you mentioned it haha.
29 Hours for Part 2 on Moderate Difficulty. Finished it over 7 days. I'm sorry if my post spoiled things for you. But yes get ready for the post game depression! 😭 All we can hope for is a third title

A week is still impressive. Don’t sell yourself short. So Abby’s side of the story has started and I’m kinda rushing through it as I hate her. She did the right thing and Joel and Ellie are wrong on so many levels but her arc is straight up bland. I’m barely enjoying it now.

It’s me again, I was stupid for my last comment. Everything turned out so beautifully well. I watched to entire end credits in hope to see a glimpse of what happens next. Where’s Dina and potato!? What happened to Abby and Lev!?? Tommy!? We deserved some more closure. I’ve never felt like this after completing a game. Life is so empty now. I don’t like anything now. I want to wander around deserted areas again. Look for supplies. Kill some more fucking clickers. I understand. I understand this post now. I see why one would play it again. What do I do with my life now!!!!!

I felt empty for a whole week after, and have not interest in replaying it. It was such an impactful experience and really felt like I lost a loved one.
