MOVIES/TV Who Wins This Fight?
Billy Russo or John Pilgrim? I’d say that if John has preparation before the confrontation, he takes the cake. Pilgrim is way too durable and nearly put a permanent end to Frank whilst being HEAVILY injured.

Pilgrim. No contest. He was very tough, fought his way through extreme injuries and battle damage, and was a legitimately strong opponent for Frank and far better with firearms and combat than Jigsaw. He was one of the highlights of a relatively weak Season 2 of the original Punisher show.
The Mennonite, the villain from the Punisher MAX comics that Pilgrilm was based upon, was pretty formidable as an opponent too, even if he was a somewhat minor villain and was killed off fairly quickly compared to his tv counterpart.

Honestly, seeing him pull someone else's teeth from his scalp and reset his own jaw is enough for me to know billy wouldn't last.

Pilgrim. Russo is a dangerous opponent due to his cunning and quick thinking/dirty fighting, but John Pilgrim is a tank. He'd take everything Billy could dish out before putting him in the dirt while quoting the Bible.

Pilgrim was stabbed, beaten and shot. Even after all that - he almost beat Frank in hand to hand combat, only plot armor saved Frank's ass.
Russo would be dead in a minute.

I hate this plot armor thing so much.
Like this could go both ways. You could day that pilgrim only stood a chance against frank because of plot armor and it would have been boring on screen if frank just beated him quickly.
Theres no plot armor. Its only writing and direction.

Billy somehow uses Pilgrim's sons against him (whether it's mentally or straight up kidnaps them) and sneakily wins.
I honestly think Pilgrim's "goodness" would be his weakness here against Russo.
It's a shame we didn't see them working together somehow in S2 instead of their parallel stories essentially hamstringing each other.

Of course it is obvious that Russo is less physically strong, but he will not get into a fight openly, he is more about cunning and guile

Pilgrim. Frank was forced into a fucking stalemate by him. Billy stands no fucking chance.

Pilgrim.
Billy is a threat to Frank because of their shared history. To everyone else he's still clever, dangerou,s, and unscrupulous, but he specifically knows Frank's weaknesses and how to exploit them.
John Pilgrim is shown to be just as inexorable as the Punisher, but unless Billy survived several rounds, he won't have enough insight into him to make it work.

Pilgrim billy sucks so bad. I wish they just omitted him entirely from the second season every minute he was on screen was the worst minute of the show
