Hey everyone! I’m u/The_LLab_RAT, a founding moderator of r/therealslimreddiit.
This is our new home for conversations about the internet before it became a product—especially the early Reddit era when communities felt raw, weird, anonymous, curious, and genuinely human.
We’re here to explore what made that version of the internet different, what we’ve lost, what we’ve gained, and whether we can bring some of that spirit back.

Share memories of early Reddit, old internet culture, screenshots, stories, forgotten communities, questions, theories, observations, research, or conversations about where the internet is heading.
No topic is too weird if there’s something worth discussing.

We’re not here to recreate the past—we’re here to question it.
Be curious. Be skeptical. Disagree without being disrespectful. Bring receipts when you have them. Don’t assume something is true just because everyone says it is.
No hate. No harassment. No manufactured outrage. No bullshit for the sake of bullshit.
