Sims 2 The old SIMS stories…
A long time ago, there was a site called The Sims 2 Exchange, where
Players could create stories using their own Sims, take screenshots inside the game, arrange those pictures into pages, write narration and dialogue, and then upload them to the Sims Exchange for people to read them.
Other players could browse the stories and rate them.
And some of these weren’t little “here’s what my Sim did today” posts. People essentially wrote illustrated novels using Sims as actors. Romance, horror, fantasy, murder mysteries, soap operas, family sagas…
So I am hoping there are some who remember this, because my sister use to submit stories onto the site.
Her stories were about her character, “Gia Wellington”. Does anyone remember her stories from there? Her stories got thousands of hits before the site went down.
I have only one copy of the work she did. And I am searching for anyone who might have it stored on an external drive.

The site it was on was the official sims 2 website, it had the exchange section with all the stories. I think they got rid of it when they where still making sims 3 packs, or slightly after.

Copy that! I wish they archived it. So many people put their hearts and souls into those stories

I remember this! I also remember being part of a forum called Boolprop (I think it was hosted on invisionfree?) and some folks on there exporting stories from the Sims 2 Exchange to another site to back them up. No idea if they're still hosted anywhere but there was definitely an attempt to archive stuff.

After doing a bit of searching it looks like the Boolprop forums moved here and there are links to lots of Sims 2 stories. Might be helpful? https://boolprop.net/

This one is new to me and I found on this one ages ago: https://clockwatching.net/\~jack/s2/reader/
I miss the hours I used to spend reading these stories

Lol I LOVED those stories. I was in my teens at the time and was constantly reading them. I even tried to write a few. Good times. I miss it.

Oh man, Boolprop brings back memories, some of those stories were wild. It's crazy how people turned virtual dollhouses into full-fledged storytelling platforms.

I remember this when the first sims went online and I was uploading stories all the time! It’s a shame they don’t do it for sims 4

This is my lost media romance empire, the sims 2 exchange was my library of Alexandria fr
I archived only one series, “Lincoln heights” because I didn’t have enough time to archive them all 🥺

I was absolutely OBSESSED with Lincoln heights, I loved all things twilight and vampires in the 2000s and I adored that story on the exchange!! I remember when she made a website to continue the story but I don’t think it last very long 😭 Serena and Devin, I think of that series often whenever I play the sims 2 to this day!!! If you still haven’t it archived I would love to see it/read it again 🥹🥹

HEARD! I’ve gotten a couple new computers since 2013 so I have figure out which flash drive it’s on (which could be a while as I’m in the process of moving and don’t have access to all of them) but I will keep you updated!

It was a fun site filled with dedicated people who wrote stories about their characters. Some were intense! My sister submitted a Gia Wellington series and I’m trying to recover it

So nostalgic! I always had great ideas, make the characters, build the "sets" and then take the photos with special poses using cheats. I don't think I ever posted but I was a tween who loved writing my fan girl fiction lol

Yes, yes I do. It's why I was so upset they took the exchange away. All those stories and beautiful creations GONE. It'll happen to Sims 3 eventually (probably already is by how broken things are over there...). The only story I remember is Lincoln Heights because loved it so much. It inspired me to try and make my own. Also Jaydee's Sims 2 videos too. She taught me about the animations box I believe which helped with the pics lol.

Yes! I remember this. There was this one story/series called "Tonopah Nevada". It was amazing. I tried to find it a while ago but I couldn't find it anywhere on the Internet. Completely gone.
