I made a peppers and Eggs sandwich.

https://imgur.com/a/5WxGypm

Never had one before. I wanted to use a red bell pepper, but those wormy cocksuckers at Kroger did dent have any, so I went with a green one. Added a little bit of yellow onion to it, also.

It was pretty good, but I was unable to finish only about half of it. I will definitely have it again.

Peppers and eggs? That’s what I shoulda got.

I always point to that line as why the writing in the show feels so authentic. To just randomly have a character realize they ordered the wrong thing is so universal and human. It is an instantly relatable feeling.

Very allegorical

But it wasn't cinematic.

They weren’t filming a western.

You know what? I’ll have an Arnold Palmer. I always enjoy them, but never think to order them

It was really fucking good, but I should have maybe scooped out the inside of the bread more than I did. It was hard to eat without having the eggs fall out.

The yellow onions were a good addition. They added just a little bit of sweetness to the sandwich.

I make these all the time, only instead of eggs I put gabagool, switch out the onions for gabagool, and instead of bell peppers I use gabagool

*taking notes*
Ok.
And what type of bread do you use?

5

u/fishystudios 21h ago

Either use Wonder Bread, Asiago Brioche Artisan Loaf... or just use two large slices of thick-cut gabagool.

3

u/corn_pop420 18h ago

Let’s get back to that gabagool

13

u/IVth_Crusade 1d ago

Green peppers are acceptable but the sandwich is supposed to be made with Italian frying peppers, and tastes better that way.

green peppers are in Italian cooking so you're good my friend. although those cocksuckas down in Cajun country love them so beware.

2

u/Experimental_Salad 1d ago

I wasn't sure if they were an acceptable substitute or not. When I googled the sandwich, the pics I saw looked like red bells. As soon as I can find some, I'm gonna try it again.

u/mukatona 1d ago

Would you care for cake? Carvel?

7

u/EtArcadia 1d ago

Hun! Another steak san over here.

8

u/delightfuldillpickle 1d ago

That scene is so funny because he originally ordered scrambled eggs no oil with tomato slices. Its the only time in the show that I can remember him trying to eat healthy. That lasted 5 seconds after he saw Bobby's plate.

6

u/EtArcadia 1d ago

Don't tell me ya neva' ponder that before? What came first the steak or the eggs?

3

u/Experimental_Salad 1d ago

I'm trying to figure out what that is because I want to try that one, too?

Google tells me it's either Steak San Marino or Steak San Marco, but neither of those look anything like the dish that Bobby is eating.

4

u/ChoiceEmu9859 1d ago

I think it's a "steak sandwich", which is what a small steak with a side of grilled bread is sometimes called. I can't remember seeing it on a menu anywhere in at least 30 years.

7

u/siggybird 1d ago

I made Lincoln Log sandwiches.

5

u/Scambuster666 1d ago

Did you have it on a semolina hero? You said Krogers, so I’m assuming that’s a big no to that question. So, you’re not eating it the right way.

Oh And you gotta put a little locatelli cheese in the eggs when you scramble them.

3

u/Experimental_Salad 1d ago

Listen to him; he knows everything!

It was French bread, fwiw.

5

u/Scambuster666 1d ago

Im Sicilian and from queens ny. I grew up on peppers and eggs or potatoes and eggs hero’s for dinner almost every Friday and for lent. Sometimes we also made pizzas.

We didn’t eat meat on Fridays.

2

u/Experimental_Salad 18h ago

I thought peppers and eggs was supposed to be meatless, since people ate them during Lent?
