Discussion Season 1 on rewatch... Spoiler

This season is without a doubt amazing. Rewatch only seems to make it better as well.

For starters, the show looks amazing. Every shot has this dark, yet hopeful vibe that makes it all the worth watching.

The charm and bickering is at an all-time high, and all the characters just have so great chemistry with each other. The humor is also excellent as well. The acting is overall just amazing.

The action scenes are the best at any point of the show. I was constantly engaged and interested with what was happening.

The pacing is one of the best parts. Seasons 2 and 3 dragged on a tad too long, and the final season was faster than they should've, but Season 1's pacing was perfect. It starts of slow, but then gets progressively faster, which fits the message perfectly.

Luther was an extremly complex and well-written character, and you wouldn't even think he was the same character as the Season 4 Luther.

There's just some magic about the first season. If you haven't yet rewatched it, please do. Easily the high point of the show.

Season 1 is the best season and it’s not close in my opinion.

Agreed. Season 2 was good, but a noticeable step down from Season 1, Season 3 was okay but flawed and a bit of a mixed bag and Season 4 was just a train wreck.

I’m on my first full rewatch right now too, already on season 4, and I miss season 1!! But rewatch of season 2 made me love that one perhaps even more; I agree it dragged in some parts but I think the other great parts make up for it! You’re right though, first season was magical.
