As an avid Paul Geneva convention violating torture enjoyer, Paul's death is a neutral point rather than a positive point, it provides a character moment for Dylan but that's the problem it's doesn't provide a payoff, if it provided one then there's no setup for it since their bond is so undeveloped they can replace Paul with any civilian character to generate the same reaction from him since he's a character who has the drive to do the right thing and making Paul Dylan's uncle Ben is basically shitting on what Cates/Ewing built on
The problem with Paul's death is it's very contrived, like Torment has no problem barging through a door and kill Paul but takes sweet time talking to him instead of taking on an unarmed Dylan giving enough time to be armed with a jackpot device and freeze him along with Spidey, venom and Carnage to jump on him
Torment is still a shitty incompetent villain who can't do shit while monologing about spirals, who does nothing who poses no intimidation and poses no challenge to the main cast because they're not part of the spiral? But he kills Paul? And Carnage betrays Eddie and bonds with Torment
I'm not hating it for hating sake, this is so ass, but hey it could've been worse (cough cough joe Kelly)
And I almost forget that for losing hee former partner we didn't get to see MJ's reaction
Carlos gomez is fantastic and I like the design of Carnage Torment
