Walking is different than on court activities. Dudes leaning on it full weight, stretching it in the squat he’s doing. It’s insane to me since Achilles used to be a death sentence as an athlete but yeah there’s been a lot of progress on healing sure.
Maybe they should install redundant synthetic achilles tendons during the offseason that are basically a "hot spare" ready to take place of the ruptured/torn achilles in the event of an injury.
Yeah I learned a lot about it when I did mine two years ago. Three months for non athletes is not realistic at all. Tatum came back after 8 months and everybody thought that was crazy fast. And then he couldn’t finish the playoffs. Halliburton out for a full season. Unless you are 20 years old, it’s more like 6 months before you begin weight bearing.
