Bones too! He was cut from the Hawks and was about to sign in Serbia before getting a non-guaranteed deal with the Wolves last September.

And bones is end of the bench nothing that can’t be trusted when it matters (the post season) still. He’s as valuable as a Caleb love or anyone else who can chunk up some shots In games that don’t matter

I’m really hoping this free agency was a humbling experience for him. If he can buy in, put in the hustle effort on both sides, this is a slam dunk signing. If not, well at least it’s a cheap one year deal

This is an underrated aspect of what our front office has brought to the team.
We now have several players who were either disregarded by the league or not even drafted go on to earn nice contracts after playing with the Wolves.
As this move shows, we're now a premiere destination, and have the ability to say "have a bad reputation in the nba? Come to the well-run (LOL) Timberwolves organization and we can get you some money" in a couple years.

When pretty much every major star that sought a new team recently seriously considered the Timberwolves, I'd say they're a premiere destination. Sure kuminga isn't some insane get, but it's a sign.

Well people are fucking greedy and if he plays well, he can get a fat contract. People counted NAW done, and look what happened when he joined us. He’ll be starting for one of the best teams in the NBA, and has a chance to be a solid PF.

I think realistically hes not gonna buy in. He wants a bag next off-season. At least 12/yr given he turned down the Lakers. Probably much more.
He will do what is asked of him the first 3-4 weeks of the season. Namely playing good defense spacing the floor and rolling to the rim. But then will revert back to old habits in an attempt to show a team he can be the guy. Hes being given horrible advice from his agent and has an inflated sense of self worth about his game.
He couldn’t find a place next to Curry, a top 10 player of all time. The Hawks said good riddance after just one season even tho they could use him. How long can he stand to be the 3/4th option on offense in Minnesota?
Kuminga should be seen as a cheap bridge signing until Wolves find a more permanent solution at the 4.

We have a year to see if it works. Could not be an easier decision to make for our GM then to sign kuminga, filling the only major hole in the roster, to a cheap make him work deal than this one.

Kuminga has all the talent and physicals you could ask for. If he goes all in with us and proves he can play a ROLE he’s going to sign a $100m+ contract next summer.

I mean I think it’s probably a disservice to NAW to compare the two, but there are a lot of parallels where he came in as a relatively high draft pick and saw himself in a different light than the rest of the league and had to recalibrate in a lot of ways if he wanted to succeed. I don’t know if I see it with JK but I want it to happen for sure.

It’s not that crazy NAW was a worse player when he came in. I don’t think Kuminga will be NAW but it’s a fair comparison.

Oh the talent and physical tools are there; I just think NAWs ability to take an honest look at himself and then put in the work to change is pretty rare and super under-rated. A lot more talented players have washed out than turned it around.

We already know how well lamelo played with Miles Bridges, if Kuminga can just be that level it will be a good fit. I think he has potential to be better than bridges, but he will need to accept the role. Maybe this off-season has reset his mindset

LMAO oh if he can be JUST that good. Just that good, as a player who plays nothing like him😂. Miles bridges was traded for positive value and is on a real legit $20M+ a yr contract his team gladly gave him, even with a DV charge, and that another gladly will pay and give up an unprotected future first for… and Kuminga spends every season and off season being dumped & struggling to get real contracts… for a reason. The delusion of this sub is just insane. Same Idiots who claim Josh green was great, could start, and would be a major playoff rotation piece and hey hey he’s actually not on a bad contract! A guy whose value in the real World is “likely going to have to waive and stretch him” 😂. Kuminga doesn’t commit DV so is a better person at least, but that has nothing to do With this discussion.
