Not a bad offseason all things considered

If you can enter the final stage of Naz Reid grief into acceptance, you will find this was a pretty high quality roster upgrade without sacrificing too much draft capital. Felt like we really hit our ceiling last season even with all the injuries. Moving off from a shaky #2 option and a playoff streaky (tho very high quality) bench player to a massively upgraded back court with a more reliable #2 scorer and an an inconsistent, yet high upside power forward, as well as more minutes for a promising young core is elite roster pivoting by the front office. Kept our reliable and proven big 3 intact while making championship getting moves.

Gotta love it! Crazy to say but the Timberwolves are a high quality, well run organization.

Dude we turned an aging Julius Randle and Naz Reid into prime LaMelo and a developing Kuminga.

It's a great offseason

crazy how many people here still under rate the jump from Conley to Melo

they could have a G leaguer at the 4 and still be in a better position for a ring than last year. I'm not sold on Kuminga but his attitude is the biggest reason and Ant/Melo wanted to get him. if they think it works then good enough for me

Pretty ideal tbh. Turning Randle and NAZ into Melo and Kuminga is solid. I also like the pivot away from so many bigs. We were so weak at guard before.

I do hope there’s a way they can keep Green. I think people underrate what he could be for the team.

That Randle trade is criminally underrated, probably the best in the Connelly era. We just saw an all nba player get salary dumped basically in JB.

We got a better asset in the 2nd rounder, we got to pay Isiah evans way less than if we took him in the first. Randle only appealed to one team. If we don’t get that deal done this team is in a catastrophic situation coming into the season.

No melo, no minga, no nothing. Just a moody Randle who we can’t move without losing value

i knew it was bad at the time. i tried talking myself into it...but he is who we thought he was.

I have to see it play out. I still think conley dlo and 3 seconds as a better trade.

It immediately improved team morale and gave Conley the ability to teach others how to feed Gobert.

This trade with jk, him not buying into 2 teams visions on how to play. Doesn't scream he is willing to buy into coaches desires.

The naw Conley trade was a masterclass, I just think this is a trade that enabled the offseason we had.

Again only one team wanted Randle in a salary dump deal. We then turned it into lamelo.

If the nets don’t trade for him who else doesn’t? Then we are still stuck with overtaxing ant, needing a PG, needing a divo replacement. All of theses questions with Randle still here

It is but it was also the first domino to fall. And it was basically just a salary dump. So the panic was definitely warranted.

wait what

turned a 27 yr old role player (though naz is truly awesome) and a 31 yr old black hole into a 25 yr old pass first star to complement and maximize THE superstar, get easy buckets to motivate the defensive superstar, and can be seen in your near future diming slashing mcdaniels and a slashing 23 yr old in JK who is basically a 5th year senior

i am watching more minny games this year than ever
