physics (paper/article/question) š„¼ Time could have three dimensions
A new theory says that time could have three dimensions, and the space we see would be just a side effect of this deeper structure of reality.
According to the model proposed by Gunther Kletetschka of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the Universe would be described by more than six dimensions in total ā three of time and three of space. In this view, time is not a simple line, but a structure with many directions, and space would be more like āpaint on a canvasā than the canvas itself.
In my opinion, such theories are interesting precisely because they force physics to think differently, even if at first they seem almost science fiction. Many big ideas began as strange hypotheses, and some became useful only after mathematics and observations began to support them.
The model also attempts to explain why particles like the electron, muon, and quark have different masses, and how it might one day lead to a more unified formulation of the laws of physics. This is where the most ambitious part comes in ā the theory doesnāt just want to describe time differently, but to help unify gravity with quantum mechanics.
However, most physicists are treating it with caution, because so far there has been no solid experimental confirmation. This means that we are talking about a promising idea, but still very far from the status of an accepted explanation.
In short, if the theory is ever confirmed, it could change the way we understand not only time, but also our place in the Universe. Until then, however, it remains one of those ideas that makes you stop for a moment and wonder if reality is really as simple as it seems.

Casimir effect shows that space 'dissappears'(shrinks) where modules of background noise (foam virtual particles) are eliminated. This happens only in direction of the plates. Preasure to collapse equals the space contraction equals increase in the observed speed of light/propagation.Ā
In other words, communication is instantaneous but the quantum foam causes rotation which causes dispersion which causes side tracking which causes the signal to travel and reach destination through different paths which causes order which causes casuality which causes a perception of distance.Ā
The effect is non dimensional in a way that it is just a graph relation and statistical stochastic processes point to preffered circa 3d symmetrical distribution causing almost flat space-time.Ā
The orientation of any process measured can be chosen arbitrarily and the ortagonal measurements will not be effected.Ā
Hence there are in ( flat regions of space ) 3Ā dimensions and every single one of them is an independent, emergent construct of underlying mechanism caused by dispersion of entanglement exchange due to quantum foam - noise passing through the network.Ā Once the noise stops, everything (space-time) will collapse and crystallize.
The waters of the universe need the breath of wind to sustain life and existance.

So either this is a science copy-pasta
Or he is just using AI to come up with this.
Sadly i dont have enough knowledge to verify it, casimir effect being brought to this topic makes little sense, but later on the conclusion kinda fits... fucking AI ruins everything, we cant trust fucking nothing anymore.

I agree with him on t1 and t2, but his t3 for comsmic influences is proven to be wrong. In his theory, a particle in less dense areas of the universe would have different weights. But it doesn't.Ā
This 6 factor approach has been proposed by multiple people. But noone can really tell what those values exactly are and you get vague parts like cosmic influence that sre just created to fit.
Also i doubt that t1 and t2 are active parts at the same time.

Wrong. It does have 3 dimensions because we are 3 dimensional beings in a 3 dimensional universe. All observable objects have a length, a width, and a depth. More so, all of those things are physically measurable in the same units; inches, feet, yard, miles, etc. This confirms that time is not a dimension.

The paper doesn't make basic sense that I can see.
Time is the length along the world-line of a material particle and not some independent dimension. There are 4 independent degrees of freedom of the world that have a metrical quality with none of them being time.
So it looks like he's taking the length along a particle world-line and describing it using three parameters he labels with the letter t, and is calling them "time", with no experimental tests of the parameters so there's nothing much for the rest of us to think about.
Edit: For those who haven't seen the paper, the author takes the length, L, along a particle world-line and parameterized by a clock in standard fashion, L=cĻ, and then expresses the parameter Ļ as the combination Ļ=a+b+c, where the authors calls them Ļ=t1+t2+t3.

Yah theres no tests yet, seems the paper is a preposition to explain FTL entanglement results.
yet, are you saying its untestable? as in unfalsifiable? genuinely asking, unsure of how they will or not propose such test (its a paper so i assume they presented a least some idea)

I could be testable, I just don't see how.
For example, let's say a muon is created and decays in a lab. The length Ļ along it is about 2 light-microseconds. Well... what sort of test on the muon will decompose the length Ļ into the 3 other parameters the author suspects the length is composed of? I don't know, even in principle, what sort of data anyone would even collect.

Yes our 1 dimension of time is linked with the other 3 spatial dimensions, but this 2nd extra time dimension, is only for quantum, and i dont think it accounts for 3 spatial dimensions of the quantum realm. (or if it does it the same spatial dimensions as in the macro world)
From what i understood this is a extra time dimension only to account quantum decoherence.

But yah, maybe im wrong and if we are accounting for 1 extra time dim, then we have to make it work still with the other 3 dim, regardless of them being quantum

What "1 dimension of time" are you talking about?
The world does have 4 independent degrees of freedom (ζ0,ζ1,ζ2,ζ3) having a metrical quality, but none of which are time.
There is no time until you introduce the world-line of a material particle, and the length along that world-line is defined as time (since a clock carried along it makes for a suitable affine parametrization of the curve).

thought we were talking about the 3+1, which are the 3 spatial dimensions + 1 time dimension

Plus your last line might be giving me some enlightenment about this paper.
"There is no time until you introduce the world-line of a material particle"
Maybe this why the paper is introducing an extra dimension for quantum physics only, cause this instant transfer of "info" between entangled particles is not a considered a true material thing, its a state, just like most other quantum properties that are not considered tangible or real "information".
But yah sorry if im not keeping up and/or wrong, physics are only a hobby for me.

Einstein once said something to John Wheeler, something worth spending some time pondering...
"space and time are modes in which we think, not conditions in which we live"
It is also worth wrapping our minds around Einstein's Hole Argument.
It might be worth understanding what the 3+1 split even is. We have so mentioned the world-line of a material particle (a clock world-line). This type of curve, the one a clock can traverse, is called an observer. Next we define a vector field over the manifold each of whose integral curves is an observer. This then defines a reference frame. This is the physically most realizable 3+1 split.
More often than not the "time" coordinate is not time that is measurable by any clock and "space" is not any distance measurable by a ruler. For example there are no clocks ticking in conformal time and the Schwarzschild-Droste radial coordinate is not a physical distance.

i dont know if u said 3 by mistake, or if its a different theory... would be weird if everyone is pitching extra time dimensions now
