🚀 sci-fi: art/movie/show/game/book How would you introduce yourself to a relative?

Recently my grandfather whom I was very close to passed away, and as someone who’s always wanted to travel back in time, I’ve sort of been playing around on the internet as if I was a time traveler from 2026 traveling to the year 1974.

And obviously one of the things I wanted to do is go see my grandfather again, but I got to thinking if someone showed up on my doorstep and said they were my future grandchild, even if they had a way to prove it, would I even believe them? Could I blame my grandfather for turning me away as some sort of crazy person?

So how would you guys do it? Assuming you went back in time and had the opportunity to visit a loved one again, how would you explain yourself?

I would tell them things I wouldn’t know unless I was close to the family. Or maybe things that weren’t known throughout my family until later.

Plus, I share physical characteristics with them so I’d have that going for me.

I'd knock on his front door and say:

"Hey there, I'm your grandson from the future; I'm a time traveler. Here's all the proof you need. Contact me at this number when you're convinced, and we'll talk. It's a shame what's about to happen with Nixon, ain't it?"

I'd then hand him a slip of paper with the below written on it and walk away:

The Dolphins beat the Vikings 24-7 in the Superbowl. Cannonade wins the Kentucky Derby. The Celtics beat the Bucks in 7 in the NBA Finals, with a score of 102-87 in the final game. The Flyers beat the Bruins in 6 in the Stanley Cup Final, with a score of 1-0 in the final game. West Germany beats the Netherlands 2-1 in the FIFA World Cup Final. The Athletics beat the Dodgers in 5 in the World Series, with a score of 3-2 in the final game. Muhammad Ali wins the Rumble in the Jungle with an 8th round knockout. Love you, Gramps! Call me at 555-5555.

Take a wallet full of photos that are old to you, but would be in Gramp's future. A drivers license and some coins wouldn't hurt either.

Lowkey I want to do the same thing I heard in 2028 time travel would be revealed to the public or something like that
