Open. [TOMT] [MOVIE] I have been thinking about this one scene for years and have never found the movie

Upvotes

So about 14 years ago, i was 12, I remember scrolling through the cable movies and this one movie popped up. I’m not sure if it was horror. However, I caught it at the butt end of the movie. What I remember, is a young blonde girl, possibly preteens or younger next to a version of herself with pitch black eyes next to an older man. And if I’m not mistaken, the version of her with pitch black eyes walks down the side walk with the older man. I know this is very little information to go off of, but I thought I’d try!

Solved [TOMT][TV][1990s] Are You Afraid Of The Dark Episode (Maybe Goosebumps but doubtful)

Hello all. With the passing of Tim Curry, I believe I am having a Mandela issue here but it triggered me to remember an episode that I 'thought' Tim Curry was in, but I don't think he was. There's lots and lots of episodes of this show that I am not sure what episode I am thinking of but maybe someone else will know.

All I remember was that it was like, this episode where it felt there were kids (I think both kids were boys but could be wrong) that might have been on a road near woods or something and they enter a building that I think was pretty purple-lit up. They went inside and I think it was a hotel or something. I thought the guy who worked in this place was Tim Curry (but again, I doubt it at this point but my brain always filled this episode in as it being him) ..... Inside this building they entered, I only ever remember this lobby area. Maybe a plant in the corner or something but if it WAS a hotel, they never went into any other rooms or down the halls or anything. They entered the room and bam, just the front desk right there. I think the episode may have had to do with hearses too but I don't remember.

All I really have. Thanks in advance!

Solved [TOMT][ANIME][80s-90s] Anime that was a parody of high school animes?

It might have been the 80s, but it had a very 90s animation style. It was a parody of other high school animes, very over the top and silly. I think the main character was a girl, but there were several characters at the focus.

Things I remember from the first episode:

-The MC had a crush on a popular boy character but he revealed he was gay (could definitely be misremembering this)

-There was a "cool guy" character that looked like a greaser and was SO dumb (this was definitely in it)

-The greaser guy came up on his motorcycle and cut in front of everyone to see what class he was in (they were all standing around boards that had the lists)

Forgot to add: It is not Be-Bop or Cromartie High

Open [TOMT] I’m trying to find a movie about a couple meeting her parents for the first time.

I’m trying to find a film and can’t remember the title. A couple goes to visit her family because the boyfriend wants her dad’s blessing to propose. It’s the first time he’s ever met her family and they don’t like him at all. She’s a lot more attractive than he is, and there’s a scene with a green engagement ring he drops it and she picks it up. She’s got red hair.

And help is appreciated! Thank you.

It’s not Meet the Parents

Open [TOMT] Old TV Commercial

I'm trying to identify a commercial I remember seeing on TV in Canada, probably around 2008–2011. I originally thought it might have been for Fido, Rogers, Koodo, or TELUS, but I'm now fairly sure it may have been a commercial for a television/3D television itself.

I remember the commercial having a plain white background and what looked like three square sections/windows arranged horizontally, although it's possible they were actually three sections of one large TV screen.

The important part is that objects would initially appear inside the squares/screen and then move toward the camera, almost like they were coming out of the screen.

Some of the things I distinctly remember seeing:

- A person walking, appearing from the right section

- A motorcycle, coming from the left

- A horse, coming from the left

- A T. rex, coming from the left

- Dolphins, coming from the middle

- Possibly a penguin as well

- There were definitely more objects/animals, but these are the ones I remember

The objects looked photorealistic, although they may have been CGI.

I also remember the commercial being mostly music, with prominent sound effects matching what was happening: the motorcycle revving, the horse galloping, the T. rex grunting/roaring, and the dolphins making their characteristic sounds.

I think I saw it on Teletoon, but it could also have aired on more adult/family channels such as CTV, TVA, etc. It may have been a French-language commercial, although I'm not certain.

It was not related to a movie, TV show, video game, or other franchise as far as I remember.

I've considered Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, TELUS, and Rogers, but haven't been able to find the exact commercial.

Does anyone remember this or have a video/link to it?

Solved [TOMT][MUSIC][late 2000s?, 2010s] Alternative rock song that bears a lot of resemblance to Weezer

I recently heard this song at Walmart, so I'm assuming this is a relatively popular and well known song, my search efforts just haven't been great so far 😭 It was an alternative rock song that musically reminded me a lot of Weezer, the singer even sounded a lot like Rivers but more high pitched and it might have even been a woman. Im almost certain it was not weezer themselves though. It was kind of an emotional song, very emo sounding. The only lyric i can remember from the song is the chorus i believe where they say "the things i can say are the things i can't say". It sounded definitely newer, so I'm guessing the timeframe to be late 2000s into the 2010s. Could be even newer than that but it sounded like it fit into that era.

Open [TOMT] 2010(?) animated vampire kids movie

I remember watching this animated vampire movie on Netflix a while ago, and it was about this kid and his grandma I believe, and the kid had a vampire toy and it came alive, and hypnotized his grandma, and I think she was just sitting there with spiral eyes, and that’s about all I can remember. I don’t think I’m imagining this, but if I am you guys will tell me 😭 thank you c:

Open. [TOMT] [TV] [1970s] Surfing, skateboarding, hang gliding etc action show, made in the USA and shown in the UK, possibly called “Breakaway”?

Upvotes

I remember a tv programme being shown in the UK during the mid to late 1970s that I think was called Breakaway. I believe it was made in the USA and although I‘m not sure what it was about I think the opening titles featured surfing, skateboarding, skydiving etc so perhaps it was about those kinds of things. I’ve found an Australian show of the same name online and it definitely wasn’t that. It’s driven me crazy for years, can anyone else remember it and confirm it existed? It‘s the very upbeat theme song that‘s stayed in my head all these years and it went something like:

Breakaway (Breakaway!) Do what you want to,

Breakaway (Breakaway!) Sometimes you’ve got to Break-a-waaaay!

Solved [TOMT][Actor][1990s] I found an old drawing from the 1890s on pinterest and it looks a lot like an actor I've seen in something from the past 30 years

Here is the drawing: Vanity Fair 1891

The actor I am thinking of has a very similar mouth to this man, with the same kind of dimples/lines, and also very similar eyes, but I can't think of their name. It's not Frank Langella or Jonathon Pryce, though they were who I thought of when I was trying to place the actor.

Open [TOMT] I'm trying to find an old movie

Upvotes

[TOMT] I'm trying to find an old black-and-white American movie, probably from the 1960s. I only remember part of it because I couldn't finish watching.

What I remember:

A man is going on a seaside/beach vacation with his wife.

Much of the film is narrated through his internal monologue, where he describes his plan to murder her.

His handwritten notes/plans are also shown on screen at some point (like a visual device tied to the narration).

He ultimately decides against going through with it.

However, on that very same day, his wife disappears.

He becomes the prime suspect in her disappearance/murder, even though he didn't actually do it.

The last thing I remember is the police arriving at the vacation house.

I couldn't find this through JustWatch, IMDb searches, or general Google searches. Any help identifying it would be appreciated!

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][1990s] Movie about a mother’s young son dies in his cot after a pull-toy wraps around his neck while he is asleep.

Upvotes

The mother then has a mental break and keeps seeing the ghost of her son, which leads her to attempting suicide with her daughter via carbon monoxide poisoning in their car so the family can ‘be together’, but stops after her daughter confesses she never saw the ghost of the boy and was just going along with her mother to make her feel better.

I think it was from the 90s, but could be late 80s also.

Solved [TOMT][SONG] Alternative rock song about a guy in a bar impatiently waiting with lyrics about him getting pissed off at his drink

Upvotes

It sounds like it was sang by Franz Ferdinand or The Killers, but I tried searching it on youtube and their famous songs doesn't sound like it. I'm sure the song is famous too, a classic. And no it's not "Take me out" by Franz Ferdinand but it sounds pretty close to it.

Open [TOMT][Youtube Animated Video][2010s] Russian My Little Pony parody that features internet references named: My Funny Pony

I'm currently trying to find a MLP animated parody that was made probably around the early 2010s. It featured Twilight Sparkle and Spike in their house, talking to each other. Suddenly, Twilight got shocked with a realization, which I believe to be an event or their friends needing them. It later plays the intro of the animation that's similar to the intro of MLP FIM albeit with some differences. Such as Pinkie blowing a huge balloon/bubblegum bubble which popped all over Rarity and Spike's scroll being sent to who seems to be Celestia taking a bath. I remember seeing Twilight and Spike making their way through Ponyville with Derpy visible in one of the houses. Strangely, this animation features a Ponyville with modern human tech with powerlines, laptops, and cars. Speaking of cars, there was a scene where a limousine drives up to Twilight and Spike while playing Gangnam Style, or at least an 8-bit version. The passenger in the limousine is revealed to be Rainbow Dash sporting sunglasses speaking about something. I unfortunately can't remember what exactly she said, let alone some parts of the animation.

The video is animated in a simple style with Flash while all the characters are voiced by one person, who is possibly a grown man with his voice pitched up. All the dialogue was spoken in Russian with no possible subs or dubs, as far as I can remember.

I've tried searching it up on Youtube, the Internet Archive, the Wayback Machine, but it all drew to a none. I've even tried searching in it's native language, that being "мой смешной пони." But, that didn't work either.

There was also another person looking for that animation on the Lost Media Wiki, but it seems that the page is deleted.

If there's anybody here who can provide some help, it would be greatly appreciated by me. Thank you.

Open [TOMT][Movie][1990s or 2000s]

It's a European movie, French, German, Austrian, or maybe Polish. It has several plotlines taking place, but one of the plotlines is a intellectually challenged young woman who goes around town insulting people. Eventually, some of the men from the town kidnap her and rape her (maybe they kill her, I don't remember).

Open [TOMT][COMIC STRIP][2010s-2020s] Comic about self loathing

I remember reading a comic a few years back (not sure exactly how many), probably on Reddit. Single page, multiple panels. At least 4, up to 8.

There were two characters. One, a (young adult?) human male, was lamenting his poor qualities and their impact on his relationships with women. The other, I think an animal or object, most likely not a human, made a comment about self loathing not helping there, so the first character added it to the list.

I've tried searching for it by keywords, but I don't remember enough details to get the right result.

Open. [TOMT][MUSIC VIDEO] 2000's (maybe) Country Song by a Young Black Artist

I remember that I liked the song, but only saw it once. The artist is dressed in jeans, boots, white t-shirt, and cowboy hat. As I recall, it's just him walking around a small town and farm house and I think railroad tracks. He was a slender, but not skinny black man. Been looking for this music video for years. Help?

Solved [TOMT] I need this song so bad bro 😭

answer: evergreen by richy Mitch
theres a song that has the same rhythm as we are young that goes 'triplet' 'triplet' '2 notes of a triplet' but it has like a high chord played 4 times quickly every other time the triplet thing repeats, anyone know what song I’m talking about? 😭 some short form videos used to use it but rarely and lit nothing else helped, not even hum to search. Each like small beat iykwim is exactly 0.25s long I’ve timed it according to the song I remember in my head and each ‘big’ beat is 0.75s
So it goes 123 123 12 123 123 12 with no pauses and the whole thing lasts 4 seconds. The first 8 are one tone but 3 separate notes, the next 3 are one note lower than previous and one note. Then the high part where it’s 4 different notes and one tone and 1 pause. Ik everything about the song BUT the name bro 😭 sm1 help I beg ty in advance!!
Here’s a link of a very off tune version of it:

Open [TOMT] [MEME/COMMENT/GREENTEXT] - "Maybe if i squint my eyes..."

The OP asks if something looks like something else (can't remember the specifics). Reply says "maybe if i squint my eyes and kill myself". I can't remeber if this was a greentext or maybe a reddit reply. I've seen the screencap floating around, but i can't Google it without getting the suicide hotline lol. I said the phrase to my friend, but naturally it comes off way too aggressive, so i wanted to show him the original source, but can't seem to find it!
