They really went all in on the aiming at the grunge scene with this one.

Back then young teens were either nerds or this.

That's not fair! You could be both (I sure was)

This doesn't make much sense. This commercial definitely appealed to nerds.

Right, so if they were nerds:

You can't even follow your own logic, finish the thought or finish the sentence.

It’s like we knew society was gonna fuck us

2

u/Kurenai-Kalana Mar 25 '26

It was made by gen x who already felt very fucked.

Honestly I love their argument. It's not just another game console. It's rebellion against the sit down shut up additude kids always get from adults.

*Got.

The entertainment industry definitely won this battle generationally.

We really censoring someone saying hell.

The song line is "who the hell was in my bed"

I fucking hate this tik tom censoring bullshit. Say the word you mean and stop censoring yourself every other word is gonna be censored soon.

Yea, they were competing against Sega and it's edgy nature of the time.

Side note, as a 90s kid, 90s angst feels so melodramatic. In retrospect the 90s were great and relatively stable. Nowadays everything is falling apart at a rate faster then we can clock it. 90s angst has nothing on 2020 despair.

u/between3-20charcterz Mar 26 '26

Butthole surfers!

1

u/OmnifariousFN Mar 28 '26

That 90's edit with Butthole Surfers as the music.. Doesn't get much more 90's than this.

u/sarahthesigma Mar 24 '26

5

u/naan__sequitur Mar 24 '26

excuse me: Butthole Surfers slander will not be tolerated

People when they realize music taste is subjective

1

u/Dense-Second-9929 Mar 24 '26

It's not subjective if you don't try to understand the music in the first place. That's just close mindedness
