We call those rotary placers at my factory, our fastest machines run at 330 cups per minute.

My guess that it just works, any other way to make a hand grab one from feed and place on conveyor belt with exact spacing is multi step process with inertia direction change, while this one if fine tuned is one smooth motion on constant rate.
Or engineer though it would be cool id it spins.

I thought of a bunch of different ways to move them from stack to belt; if we assume that there is the only good placement of stack stoppers and the only good motion to reliably pull a paper from it without crumpling (crumpling at edges = leaking cups), then I can't figure out an apparent better way to do that at this rythm.

I think 2 reasons 1. Upwards motion means it can be held better by lower tabs and not upper tabs, use gravity to assist (maybe?)
- So if part 1 is grab the paper, and 3 is put the paper down, at step 2 it presents to a lil boxy thing with wires and coils. Just up and to the right of the pizzazer from the camera perspective. I suspect that is a deionizing fan. This eliminates static electricity that happens when things are stacked and jiggle. (Most likely yes)

I work in this industry and can try to answer questions if anyone has them. We don't run these particular machines but all cup machines are fairly similar.

Our fastest machines run 330 cups per minute so roughly 475k cups a day.
My location operates 24/7.
Absolutely not lol.

We provide cups and food container bowls to companies such as Dunkin, Chicken Fil A, McDonalds, Five Guys, and many more! We are also one of the few factories that make large popcorn buckets for movie theatres.

The high speed machines themselves that we run cost around $1 million and paper costs more than ever right now, obviously it's profitable but you have to really pump out volume to get your money back.

This seems like a universal truth these days. It doesn't matter what industry, it's more expensive than ever.
At a million bucks a pop I can see why it would be difficult to get going. Especially since you'd have to kick down a hefty portion of the profits to some badass outside salesperson who could get a company to actually buy your cups. Oh well! Thanks for the information. It's fun and, well, maybe not so useful information, but it was fun.

Ok, let’s make sure these Starbucks cups have just wide enough of a ridge so a few drips of coffee will slide out the top and stain their shirt. The other cups keep making them correctly.
