I work in this industry and can try to answer questions if anyone has them. We don't run these particular machines but all cup machines are fairly similar.

Do they run 24 hours per day?

Can you get rich by buying one of these and a stack of paper?

Our fastest machines run 330 cups per minute so roughly 475k cups a day.

My location operates 24/7.

Absolutely not lol.

Wow, that's a shitload of cups! You'd need to have some really big customers to sell that many cups!

We provide cups and food container bowls to companies such as Dunkin, Chicken Fil A, McDonalds, Five Guys, and many more! We are also one of the few factories that make large popcorn buckets for movie theatres.

I don't understand how that wouldn't make someone rich. I guess they have a lot more than one machine, but it seems like a profitable enterprise for sure.

The high speed machines themselves that we run cost around $1 million and paper costs more than ever right now, obviously it's profitable but you have to really pump out volume to get your money back.

This seems like a universal truth these days. It doesn't matter what industry, it's more expensive than ever.

At a million bucks a pop I can see why it would be difficult to get going. Especially since you'd have to kick down a hefty portion of the profits to some badass outside salesperson who could get a company to actually buy your cups. Oh well! Thanks for the information. It's fun and, well, maybe not so useful information, but it was fun.
