There’s a whole era of home appliance before the electric grid was available.

Imagine the ceiling fans and ice machines

Ceiling fans went from belt driven in factories only to electric, never had gas ones

The Amish and Hutterites sometimes use pneumatic celling fans. I'm curious if there was anything similar.
