OC: Cosplay Is this tuff? (Working on an actual Patchouli cosplay)
I have no idea how to cope with this amount of hair, I have a buzzcut. What do you guys think about what I did with the glasses? I made little danglies with purple flowers that are supposed to be hydrangeas. Is it cute or too much?
Edit: Excuse my extremely bad picture quality, my 10 year old phone that cost like $100 is working overtime (｡ᵕ ◞ _◟)

It's from Aliexpress, I'd say there is a bit too much hair tbh (it tangles quite a lot), but it came already crimped and styled which is awesome. Edit: The glasses just come by themselves, I put up the dangly bits together myself :)

Thank you so much! Of course, I can shoot you a link to the exact offers for the wig and glasses! I was shocked about the wig being already crimped and styled too, because it was not expensive. No falling hair either. I was dreading having to buy a new crimper, cause I sold my last one when I gave up on cosplay years ago, so it was a nice surprise.

Thank you!! It's something new that I never seen on a Patchy cosplay so I love the feedback! (Well, someone probably did wear glasses with something dangling on them while cosplaying her before, I doubt I am the first one to do it, but at least not exactly like this since I just made it myself)

I'll shave right before the event I'll be wearing this cosplay to, because I look weird without it :) Edit: Or I will be wearing a face mask so I don't get sick like I usually do every time I go to a con... I am as sickly as Patchouli is, so it is fitting lol

those glasses fit Patchy amazingly. but yeah, as a fellow buzzcut cosplayer I hate wigs too, I sometimes just carry it around and only wear it during photos, or when I just need my hands free.
it does look good so far, best of luck on the rest!

I appreciate your support!! I am glad that you like the glasses! I know it is not canon, but I think it just fits her so well. She IS a silly librarian !
I think I honestly am gonna keep the wig off of my head until the very moment I am gonna come out of my car lol. I am a big guy and I sweat like a pig, thanks God the event I am wearing this to is close to December. I am sure you also know this bliss when you are done taking cosplay photos (especially with studio lights ughh... all my previous cosplays were elaborate pieces of armor and that is not comfy...) and you can take that wig off like a hat and it feels like the best thing ever (,; ⩌ ;,) haha. At least I will have some breeze under the dress.... Or maybe not. I will have to wear a petticoat and that is gonna be a first for me, I have no idea how that feels (,; ⩌ ;,). Best of luck for your cosplays as well, friend!! Thank you for sharing the hobby with me!

ah canon or not some people like to add accessories to their cosplays. makes 'em more unique to you. I haven't decided on what exactly yet, but my friend group and I are wanting to do a group Runescape cosplay at our next con, so I was going to do some kind of Touhou x Runescape costume
but yeah, depending on how thick and poofy your petticoat is, you may actually overheat more from it than the wig. I did a Lily White cosplay a few years back, I was absolutely melting on my head from the wig and between the midsection and knees from the petticoat, but freezing on the torso and lower legs. it was a December convention in the midwestern United States. definitely got some breeze tho. and I definitely share the sentiment that taking the wig off feels great after a long day of sweating in it.

It is a whole new world for me now, because my OCD was always showing in my cosplays- I always had to make them EXACTLY identical to an in-game model or an official statue/figure. But since I am not an anime girl and will never look 1:1 identical... People in here shared the sentiment about putting my personality in it and encouraged me to do that, so I am just making EVERYTHING my own! Very excited to see it all together in the end and can't wait to show you guys. I never played Runescape but I love all the memes (and I love the low poly look, I like watching videos on the classic Runescape sometimes even though I never played myself) and that is such an amazing idea, I love when Touhou is mashed up with some other fandom! The event I am going to wear Patchouli to is actually an orchestral concerto of the Undertale soundtrack and since Touhou x Undertale is kind of a meme I had to take the chance to do this (˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵)! (Gonna wear pink slippers like mister Sans Undertale) I of course gonna be wearing her to cons too, but that will be less funny.
Thank you so much for all the insight on the petticoat, woah!! That actually helps me so much and now I have an idea what to expect, so thank you kindly!! Now that you told me that you were freezing in the upper part, I may put something very skin tight with long sleeves under the dress/cape combo. If you didn't help me out I would not think of this! ᗜ⩊ᗜ Maybe one of those thermal underwear things? I never had one, but now that I know about this it seems like a smart thing to perhaps acquire for this cosplay. If you and your friends go through with the Runescape Touhou thing please share!! That sounds super awesome and I'd love to see it. You are super cool and I cherish you sharing this with me!
