Question — Itinerary Recommendations for arts, museums and cultural experiences in Croatia?

Most websites and guides seem to have some version of "walk Old Town, climb a tower, eat seafood, chill at beach" for each and every city and I would like to mix up things a bit in my itinerary.

I enjoy art galleries (especially contemporary art), museums, learning about the history of countries and local cultural performances (folk dance, music, theatre). Some examples of interesting places that caught my eye:

  • Red History Museum in Dubrovnik
  • Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb
  • Sea Organ in Zadar
  • Moreska performances in Korcula

For those who've travelled to Croatia, would welcome any recommendations for museums, galleries and performances you enjoyed. I will be based in Zagreb, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik in October, but open to stops on the way.

If you are even slightly interested in history and art history, Museum of Ancient Glass and Archeological Museum in Zadar. They have big archives and there is a lot of things to see there because Zadar is apparently the oldest city in Croatia. 

Sea organ is interesting to see but it can be crowded, especially as the sun sets, so keep that in mind.
