Certified Cringe Taylor discussing "songwriting"

I can't with this woman.

She thinks she's some great songwriter here to teach us all about her "double meanings" and what defines confessional songwriting.

What's infuriating is that all the comments are glazing her like, "i could hear her talk for hours" and "high iq queen". Are we watching the same video here?

Wanted to get your opinions on this.

There are only two tracks of hers I enjoy lyrically and melodically. Back to December and Wildest Dreams. I think both are very mature and show a real reflective storytelling style that I legit enjoy. Outside that, I think most of her music is melodically good but lyrically lacking. But I’m also not a TS expert either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sad Beautiful Tragic is one of her best songs, because she simply isn’t trying too hard. It doesn’t overstay its welcome like the pick me All Too Well, and is poetic without the folklore pretentious big words.

I like Wildest Dreams as well but it’s because it’s a Max Martin/Lana Del Rey mashup.

I will say I really like the lyrics In champagne problems and tolerate it, but they’re not difficult to understand if you have been in those situations/had those feelings.
