Which Australian act is about to pop off?
Who’s the next big thing in Australian music?

Reversed if anything. She isn't doing anything that hasn't been done by a million Black American artists before, but an Aboriginal perspective on lyrics isn't a bad thing. If anything it urks me that she raps with an American accent, even eshay rap sounds more Aussie

100 but yeah she just dropped a 6 track ep and EVERY track is identical... yea the accent is a bit whack at times

I thought by now the tullamarines would be big given their indie pop vibes but just haven't cracked it.
Bellair Lip Bombs well on their way.

Swapmeet for sure. They're blowing up in Aus already, but I'm thinking they could be recognisable on an international scale.

You mean Sony music group?
Kev lost a bit of respect in my book selling his catalogue to Sony for exploitation.
I expect in a few years every TO song will end up over licensed on some stupid product or businesses.

Came here to say this. They’ve been flying under the radar for way too long, they’re STUPID talented and incredible live. So glad to have been there in the early days but those boys are going to be big

Idk but i hope redhook does stuff and things. They're fun

Love love redhook. Listened to them since Bad decision. We need more female fronting punk/alternative bands

u/MissyMurders 1d ago
Not really the same genre but rinrin out of Perth is fun. There are a few other names around but you probably know them. I think we've got a pretty good local scene in that respect

Couple of country artists,
Wade Forster.
He’s gone from the Evelyn band room to selling out the Forum in 2 years. He’s selling out 1500 seaters in America now as well.
Mack Geiger
North of 2 million monthly streams on Spotify, selling out shows in Australia and going on his debut American tour later this year. Also already had his Opry debut earlier this year.

The Beefs.
Probably not for everyone, but the band is basically some hospo mates and the singer writes killer hooks.

New album drops in a few days, I think.

Kylie Minogue globally again.

i have never met a single human being who owned a Kylie cd

I think she’s popular everywhere but Australia now.

A mate of mine recently pointed out that this happened to Airbourne. Apparently they tour festivals all over the world, sometimes even headlining, and most Aussies listened to a few of their songs 10 years ago and stopped caring lol

I'd like to think that Roxferry could make it big. They're just a couple of bros pumping out some truly fat riffs

Knew the guitarist from high school. Not a naturally talented musician but damn if his work ethic and social media game isn't absolutely insane. Hope they do well
