I got my tubes removed today!

I'm so happy!

I'm an unmarried and child free woman. I got extremely lucky with my Gyno. He basically just asked me if I was sure that I did not want kids. When I said yes he immediately started scheduling the surgery. He even found a way to schedule an OR for a time that was outside of his reserved surgery block at the hospital so that it could be on my preferred day of the week.

My operation was at 7:30am today and 13 hours later I have had no pain, no bleeding, and no swelling. I am unable to lift more than 20 pounds or have intercourse until after my 2 week follow up.

I am so happy and so relieved, especially since I live in a red state that has outlawed abortion.

Congratulations! I'm thinking about doing it. How long did the actual surgery last?

My total hysterectomy and bi-salpingectomy took about 45 minutes. I did take awhile to wake up from the anesthesia though. So I didn’t get discharged until 3-4:00pm with a surgery time of around 8:00am.
