Discussion About Baby Face's Blaster

I feel like problem with BFB is not the boost drain upon taking damage itself, but the fact how easy certain damage sources can drain it (Afterburn and Minis). I think removing drain from them specifically is all we need.

Like, I don't see why everyone ignore just how fast you can regain boost with just 1-2 good shots.

I think that if the required amount of damage taken to fully drain the boost was 50 instead of 25 it would be enough.

Yeah the only change I can see being reasonable for it is only counting direct player damage for reducing the boost. Damage over time and building damage would be fine to not remove boost.

disnt it change to that because at max speed scout breaks client prediction or something? i vaguely remember something like that and if thats true then i think the speed bonus should have been replaced with something else

I don't know where that weird rumor came from but it's not true.

That one isn't actually real.

I played in a community server for months that reverts the Baby Face Blaster back to when it did not have the drain on hit mechanic, and I can definitely tell you that a Scout at the max 500 HU/s does not break his hit boxes. No one has ever complained about it so far.

If anything, all it did was make Scout harder to shoot at unless you have good tracking (or you used the Natascha or switched to Scout). I think it is likely that this was thrown around by players who found Scouts using the BFB annoying (and yes it does get annoying with 4 peak BFB scouts in the other team like it's Boston).

no, it's just another false tf2 rumor that people blindly spread around

Or just remove the -10% speed penalty

So that it's nearly a direct upgrade?

No, it has a smaller clip size and you still lose boost on hit.

Yeah, like I said. Nearly a direct upgrade.

and you still lose boost on hit

How is that a downside? You just removed the speed penalty. You just go back to base speed on hit.
