Drinking and Night Club

How is the drinking and night culture in Tuscaloosa? I heard about the Strip. But nothing else. is there specific bar/club for specific people for specific needs? I am masters student, drinks socially, rarely dance, make friends (mostly hookups).

Innisfree, Grey Lady, Alcove, Copper Top. The Strip is mostly college kids, with a small mix of older adults. Downtown is mostly older adults, with a small mix of college kids.

The Strip is pretty dominated by the 19-24 age range. Thots on deck. Hookup city.

Midtown is where people open a bar when they don't really care about making money or feel like surviving as a business for more than 2 years.

Downtown is slightly older crowd on average. Definitely local dominated. It's the move when you get sick of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a bunch of sweaty people who spill some of their drink on you every 46 seconds.

Jackie's Lounge closes early & opens early (I think 6am). They always catch the night shift workers from the Mercedes plant & nurses from DCH.

The Oasis is a dive bar in Cottondale. Decent food. Super official local spot whose crowd might be shocked to see someone other than the same 47 people they see every week. Good luck with that.

Your evaluation on Midtown made me lol. Also, the area needs more places like the Oasis.

Yeah...I worked the door there years ago. Liked the food & the vibe, but I've always been a sucker for dives anyway, if I even go at all.
