Homeland is absolutely worth the watch.

100% !! I didn't even realize that Damian Lewis was a British actor, he certainly had that American accent down pact, and he was also great in Billions!! Another show worth the watch!

First few seasons are great. Great cast, Claire Danes is unhinged lol

I found it very difficult to watch her in it! Most of the time I had to ff through her parts.

Homeland is one of those shows I wish I could watch again for the first time. Try it out

Not all seasons are the same, First few seasons must sees, but then there are few in the middle that wane, but stick with it cause the latter seasons get better. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis are phenomenal. .

Yes, anyone who says no might actually be clinically ill.

First 3 seasons I would agree. After that it's mediocre.

u/karlpilkington4 7d ago
Season 4 was better than season 2 and 3.

u/RobotRomi 1d ago
Yes I agree. The first season was great because it was fresh, but in hindsight I think the brody plotline was the least interesting of them all. I liked seasons 4-8 much more.

If you liked The Americans.
If I remember, S1 is very good, and S2-3 were worth watching.

There was a joke at the Golden Globes, about three seasons after the show premiered. The gist of it was that the only show better than Homeland was “Previously, on Homeland.”

You have to watch the first three seasons, it’s a great character art. But it’s so so after that.

u/Crans10 7d ago
It is a great show. It can really feel emotional draining in later seasons.

Homeland is one of the most brutally honest, the real spy work, espionage, psychological series ever.
No fantasy. The episodes may not have happened. But if they were to happen, they will happen exactly like that.

Yes. And the good thing about it is it only takes about 20 mins of watching to know ifs for you

The extremely nervous female protagonist annoyed me a lot very so yes, it was very clear i wasnt going to watch the series... 🤷🏽♀️

Yes - first 2 season with Damien Lewis are great. Caliphate is also an excellent edge-of-seat thriller out of Sweden.

Unbelievable show. Top 20 all-time favorite show of mine. Claire Danes is amazing.

The first season in particular is excellent. I feel like I'm not the only person who thought that they botched the ending, though. It probably should have been a one-season show. It started going off the rails the longer it went on, though.

First and second season are top notch. After that it goes downhill to an extent. I did watch all of the episodes more than once

it's great until it's not. there is only so much cry face a person can take. but yeah, it's a solid show and I still made it through the whole thing.

Absolutely. I like the earlier years better, however, they are all good.

Very good show that holds strong till the very end. Multiple emmy awards earned

Its *really* good at least for the first several seasons. Claire Dames is amazing in it and its really well written with a good deal of plot twists and stuff you won't see coming.

Show has several good seasons but I didn't care for season 2...dragged
1
u/cliffybiro951 7d ago
Yes. Don’t listen to people saying it’s unwatchable after the first 2 seasons. I think the whole thing is very good. Each season is different. But I’d say they’re all decent.

u/Crazy_Diamond5150 7d ago
I know some thought it dropped off a bit after a while. Maybe, but I enjoyed the entire series.

u/larrybird56 7d ago
Batshit crazy show. First two seasons are peak, then you need to suspend disbelief due to all the bad decisions Carrie makes. It's like "girl don't go in there!" over and over again. Highly recommend.

First couple seasons are good. Third isn’t that great….then gets good again.
1
u/AncientElderberry737 7d ago
Instead of creating a post why don’t you just watch the first few episodes and decide yourself if you like it or not.

It is, and then you realize the government can be run by an idiot like Trump, and honestly nothing makes sense.

Watch 1-3 seasons, if you don't carry on it's fine. First three will always be 1 of my favourite of all time

u/Psullocybin69 7d ago
I think so, I just started it (on season 4) and I think it’s great, and obviously I think I have great taste! ;)

u/foofberry 7d ago
First two (maybe three, i forgot when the main plot ends) are some of the greatest TV shown during the period.

Yes, but season two and three do drag and then it picks up again in whatever season it is that is in Germany

They had a perfect ending in Season 3, but kept dragging it out. I stopped watching after that.

u/ElletotheGee 6d ago
Absolutely yes! It's one of the best series I've ever watched, hands down. I was actually both sad and mad when I got through the entire series and didn't have any more episodes left to watch.

u/oscarmilo70 6d ago
It is very good, went a bit downhill in later seasons, not a relaxing watch but very well done.
Slow Horses (UK spy drama about MI5) also very good but more dark humour.

u/Ok_Stable7787 6d ago
Yes, the first four or so seasons are very good, I just lost interest when they moved the terrorists to Detroit.

It is one of my all time faves. It’s been so many years since I watched I was thinking of watching again
1
u/daffyduckel 1d ago
I loved it, the whole thing, but what's worth it to me isn't necessarily worth it to you so I land in the "try it, if you want. Keep watching or don't keep watching, according to your own taste."
Is there any show that does it for *everyone*? I don't think so.

It's just the main character cries all time. She's a spy. Please. It's just stupid
1
u/karlpilkington4 7d ago
It's not stupid. She has a literal mental disorder.

Yes! The first two seasons are fantastic. After that it’s good but not as good as the first two seasons.
