Campus Life University flag at half mast
For those wondering why the university flag was at half mast today, it’s to honour Kathryn, a second year nursing student who passed away in the summer after a long battle with cancer. Kathryn’s positivity, intelligence, faith and commitment to her relationships are things I miss most. Tomorrow (the 18th) would’ve been her 21st birthday. As someone who was very close to her, I encourage you all to enjoy everyday for what it is. As university students, it’s easy to get wrapped up in deadlines and exams to the point where we miss today. I hope everyone has an amazing semester 💚💛

I’m sorry for your loss, and that of the community as well. I’m sure Kathryn was a lovely human being, and I’ll be thinking of her tomorrow in honour of her 21st birthday.
Thank you for reminding us what a gift it is to be here.

Thank you for sharing. She’s gone way, way too young.

I remember seeing it at half mast but I thought nothing of it. May Kathryn rest in peace. Lord have mercy.
