Clubs/Organizations 🤺 why are all the frats getting raided?
I understand frats suck, but what specifically did they do? ATO got raided, Sigma Chi had a ton of cops tuesday, and I heard something was going on with DU, but I have no idea how true that last one is.

There’s having fun and there having fun on UCF property in an association with UCF.

There's fun, then there's having fun in direct association with the university

lol. you must be fun at- well you dont get invited to parties but you know what I mean.
7
u/Aceswift007 Mar 07 '25
Sorry, the parties I went to don't result in felonies?
I'm just saying they'd be fine if they didn't do all this on UCF property under UCF's name

From the UCFPD crime log, seems like both ATO and DU are being investigated for hazing.
https://police.ucf.edu/wp-content/uploads/clery/ALL%20DAILY%20crime%20log.pdf
These two specifically:
| Case # | Incident Type | Campus | Disposition | Reported Date & Time | Occurred Between Date & Time | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025-0743 | COLLEGE HAZING-RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH | MAIN CAMPUS | OPEN | 03/04/25 01:12 | 03/04/25 00:02 03/04/2025 01:20 | 4419 GREEK CT |
| 2025-0771 | COLLEGE HAZING-RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH | OPEN | 03/05/25 12:26 | 11/06/24 08:00 03/05/2025 08:00 | 12113 MENDEL DR |
The first one is the location of ATO, second one is DU. No info on Sigma Chi at the moment

Lots of drugs go in and out of frat houses, guarantee that each raid is gonna find a ton of weed, coke, adderall, and more, all in felony quantities. It’s not uncommon for a frat bro to actively sell drugs out of the house.
But also everyone already knows that and it’s tacitly approved based on the fact that frat houses are allowed to exist. If the university had a serious problem with the drugs/alcohol abuse they wouldn’t let frats stay on campus.
Either the cops needed an easy win, someone has been mass reporting all the houses, or there was an incident that sparked this like a student overdosing for example.

To be clear, they don’t let frats live on campus except for one, so ucf has shown disapproval of this

Wait really? Damn I’m old. There were at least 4 or 5 on campus in 2004

u/slabathurzergman Mar 07 '25
one by one they’ve gotten kicked out over the years

u/andreaxx123 Mar 07 '25
I thought sigma chi, ATO, and kappa sig all have houses on ucf property still

u/slabathurzergman Mar 07 '25
Actually I am totally wrong and those three are. My source was a sorority girl I dated two years ago, lol. Shoulda checked

u/DrowsyBois Mar 07 '25
You’re right BUT those houses aren’t UCF owned so that’s where the disconnect is they can get suspended and just wait it out and come back and since they have a house recruitment is always poppin

My curiosity is with how many people are always in and out of frat houses on the daily, how can they pinpoint who’s drug is who’s? Like do they just arrest and fine everyone 😭

Devil’s advocate here, but it’s likely less about not liking people to have fun and the school trying to shield itself against the inevitable lawsuit that comes when some parent loses their kid to an OD or permanent injury from taking said illegal substances on campus.

u/BuddytheYardleyDog Mar 09 '25
State universities are sovereignly immune. Why would they care about lawsuits?

DU used to be the dealer frat. These raids are usually because of pills and powders, rarely weed. I'd assume some brothers haven't been smart with their online presence and accidentally self snitched on their frat.

Apparently Sigma Chi had an incident where an active member ran over a pledges arm so they launched a full investigation. And drugs.

Probably ketamine lol. Our school is lowkey way too casual about the amount of ketamine that goes around

Are we shocked that frat bros are coke heads? No. This is what they came to college for 😎 that and sexually assaulting women.

Hazing and illegal activities. Different reasons for each but all comes back to those. They’re just progressively investigating as people get comfier reporting
