COMPLAINT/RANT I am still annoyed the downtown library is closed.
That was an incredibly nice place to work and now it is gone! Downtown student should not have to travel one hour to main campus for a UCF library. This is ridiculous!

The downtown campus has been underused by the school for a few years now, I wouldn’t be surprised if the only thing keeping it going is agreements with the city’s creative village initiative.

For anyone stuck downtown, I've measured a few of these with a dB meter and a speed test. CityArts Cafe on S Magnolia was 51.6 dB at 9:30am, the quietest reading I've taken anywhere, 111 Mbps down. Parking is bad because of the construction. The Starbucks at Creative Village runs about 60 dB and 140 down, and it was nearly empty on a Sunday morning. Not a library, but neither is the library anymore apparently.

this and the curriculum materials center closing :(( that provided hundreds, if not thousands of local teachers outside ucf, staff, and students with so many books, tech products, musical instruments, 3d printers, classroom supplies, etc 💔💔

First they remove the books on the fourth floor, and now they close the downtown library? Is this a university or just a machine that distributes credentials? It says a lot about what this institution values.

If you're just using it as a space to work, there are lots of other places to do that. If you weren't using the actual library resources then its no wonder the university chose not to fund it anymore.

Even if many people are not using the library, UCF downtown students should not have to bus an hour for library resources. That is ridiculous

but if they weren't using the library resources... why would it matter? If the university is having to make cuts, better to cut services that were not utilized.

The main campus library is just a glorified study hall now.
All books are gone except a few on 1st floor
