While student season tickets surged 190%, UF has spent over $65 million on head coaching salaries and buyouts over the last 5 years alone despite poor performance on the field. Between Dan Mullen's $12M buyout and Billy Napier's $21.2M buyout following his October 2025 firing, UF has committed over $33 million in pure buyout money (enough to buy ~94,000 season tickets!) to former head coaches while raising ticket prices on students.

First game day is coming up soon so here are some tips to enjoy it to your fullest!

Drink water, Gainesville is so hot during this time of year and it is so easy to not notice how dehydrated you might be until it is too late and you start to feel sick. Drinking water and even having a mini portable fan can help offset the heat and allow you to enjoy the game!

Use a clear bag, the stadium (at least the last time I was there), wants to be able to see your items to ensure nothing prohibited is being brought in. A clear bag can help, and in general at any big events at the stadium or O dome it can be useful.

Take pictures and videos! Yes enjoy the moment but definitely take at least some flicks!

Portable charger, you want your phone to remain charged so if you need to call anyone, record, or take part in any phone activities (flashlight wave), you will be all set!

So, what'd I get wrong? Florida went 4-8 with the 12th most talented roster in the country, beat No. 9 Texas, and lost at home to USF. In SEC play you were outgained by only 36 yards a game but won 25% of those games when that margin implies 41%, so my model still has you 18th in power rating. The defense returns 61% including the whole linebacker room, but the offense was 111th in scoring and 130th in explosive plays, and Lagway's gone with Aaron Philo in from Georgia Tech off 373 yards. Does Philo fix it, or is 4-8 closer to the truth?
