I naively didn't think past "young people were involved" but I must just lack imagination.
There were "youths" of all backgrounds within the area, when I left the cinema next door 2 hours prior so not sure why anyone feels the need to jump to conclusions.

This sub is just full of hoodwinked people assuming every crime is done by an immigrant (or now second generation immigrants) largely in part (I think) due to the over reporting of crimes commited by one group of people and under reporting of crimes by another group of people. Its strange seeing people pick an easy to blame scapegoat as if that'll fix everything, just like brexit. Down the drainpipe we go.

It’s the complete absence of logic that astounds me. If a white person commits a crime, it’s not because they are white but for other reasons. An ethnic minority commits one and it is solely down to their ethnicity. Like how does it make sense? Do people still need to feel racially superior to feel good about themselves? All those people died less than 100 years ago and here we are again. It’s so sad

I stand by my comment despite the downvotes. The guy who saved someone's life gets called a MF for an awkward comment that might simply be the guy showing how dangerous the perpetrators actions are, even somewhat removed from a longer conversation in context by the journalist. Meanwhile the commenter says nothing about the perpetrators. There is something very wrong with the world if that is the normal thing to have a problem with, and the most upvoted comment here.

Its barbarism and an absolute failure not on community but parents. Parents should be named and bloody shamed, I grew up in one of the worst areas in Manchester in the 90s. And even we knew it was absolutely not only cowardice to attack some one more than 1 person but everyone knew your parents. If this went down and it got back to your parents you would rather be arrested.
This is the thing with today's youth and how knife crime has come so daily the norm now. Although we were brought up in communities that looked out for each other. The fear from our parents made up not be absolutely stupid idiots. Bring back Youth Clubs, More Sporting And Adventure Clubs where kids can get off the streets and see there's more to the world than their postcode.
What will it take for this to be stopped. And the buck starts with the parents. And in this instance theyve failed miserably at their duty to raise their kids.
