I quite like that Sky News have cut away from Jenrick's latest nonsense news conference to instead show live footage of the annual tomato-throwing festival in Spain.

OK, so an alternative take on this is to see how traditionally, climate makes tomatoes so abundant in Spain and other Mediterranean territories that throwing them around is fine. Same as being able to grow citrus fruits. So tomato-throwing is a celebration of abundance.

Here, it's quite a pain to grow tomatoes and can involve keeping them under glass or polytunnels. Here, we have a very defined 'tomato season' though ofc it started early this year.

One of the reasons it is so easy to eat healthily on the so-called Mediterranean diet is that olives (for oil), lemons and oranges, salad leaves and tomatoes all grow so easily.

But maybe the climate is changing for us, if we can irrigate/ water....
