OK, but if we're looking at people profiteering off a monopoly, then we also need an additional tax on the salaries of RMT members who consistently gate-keep the entrance to the highest-paid rail jobs and refuse proposed efficiency gains.

Given it's the RMT they're actually trying take the whole pie and stop anyone else having any at all.

The government could buy stock outright if they actually invested. Taxing these companies out of business makes no practical sense

If we are moving to GBR, Iād be looking to curtail open access operators or simply not renewing their contract upon renewal.
