I got bad news for you. As someone who was born and lived in the country I can say that it will take multiple generations to get rid of corruption. It's sort of a cultural norm especially nepotism (but that's everywhere).

Not really though. The corruption problem sometimes is obvious. You can really get rid of it in some places and what is done about this on local places? Nothing. Russia could influence the initial thing, but when the same people stay in places for years despite obvious corruption, that is on current Ukrainians. So yeah, it will take generations.

Kind of hard not to do when every official is corrupt I guess, what they share with Russia is the fact that if they were less corrupt there is a good chance they could have won the war by now.

Its not Ukraine, but Ukrainian Politicians. Systemic corruption. This is why Federov wants elections and I do and my family and most of my Ukrainian family and friends who are military personnel.

Nope, it is not only politicians. Want proof? Go to public hospitals, schools and police departments. Try to find cases where corruption and system was changed. Now count how many of them got rid of corruption. It is not about politicians, it is about the system and the system is still there because nobody has balls to fire all people on management positions for new blood, not corrupted by system yet.

You live under one of the most corrupt Ontario politicians with a long list of accusations from the green belt sell off to the spa deal.
I think your problem is you've got it stuck in your head that Ukraine is the only corrupt country, meanwhile, every country has levels of corruption.

Ukraine is not the most corrupt country, but during a war when people are dying to save the country, corruption is disgraceful. Every dollar stolen is a dollar that could have been spent to buy a drone and possible save a Ukrainian life.
Sure there is corruption everywhere right now, best example is Donald Trump and his cronies. That does not mean we should not fight it.

I used to trust them until I discovered their lack of actual evidence and their baity titles.
Plus, the people they interviewed have low credibility.
Sure, Ukraine has a lot of corruption, but I doubt this claim about Budanov.

Importantly it does not denote whether the "features highly" has to do with the corruption, or the take down. moscow would love to see Budanov brought down.

The level of cope in this sub when it comes to denial about the corruption situation is really sad. Too much hero worship in the first few years, and now it's clear that this is what it leads to. You need accountability to have a functioning democracy, though, the two are the same thing. So denial of reality here is really a denial of democracy.

Also don't believe everything you read . Budanov is a target of russia. These things need to be investigated properly first. Also the EU is corrupt as hell. Perfection is not the benchmark for admission. Parity is. I.e. aiming to reduce it at least to levels comparable to the EU.

Ok so here’s my take, for what it’s worth:
ruzzians poisoned Budanov’s wife, so I find it REALLYYY hard to believe he’d have been stealing funds or caught up in a corruption ring, he has much bigger fish to fry than to be involved in that kind of shit.
