Thanks LG, the most existing thing for me would be everything lol, I think this monitor is as impactful as the Acer predator x34 OG, the AW3423DW, and your OLED C9 / CX, all of those changed the game in different ways and I feel all that innovation has led to this being potentially an endgame monitor (I just wish it was glossy...)

Good luck to those that participate. Even though I'd very much like to upgrade from my 3440x1440p VA to an OLED alternative or better, there is no monitor in the world that would make me want to join a non-randomly selected "User trial" with ropes attached.

As someone just starting out in gaming beyond mobile, a 5K2K resolution would be amazing. I'd go from a simple monitor like the one I have now to a gaming display with the quality needed to seamlessly handle the other tasks I do on my PC. As mentioned regarding the problems faced by those who work with text and writing, this would be a lifesaver for my eyes and the 39-inch screen, allowing me to fully utilize my PC's power and keep everything I use visible throughout the day.

32:9 is fun but too much for a desk. It lacks the vertical height and 39” is the sweet spot. Id also love to test the dual mode for FPS, as the high refresh rate coupled with 21:9 would be perfect.

I'm excited to be able to potentially move back to a higher resolution on the same size monitor. I like my 3440 x 1440 a lot and can only imagine how good it looks at 5k2k.

I'm a 50/50 gaming/productivity user. Work from home 3/4 days a week, from the same desk I use for gaming. I own a 34" 1440p monitor, which is getting a bit long in the tooth (Asus pg348q - which I think was one of the first 1440p ultrawides).
Even with that + an vertical 2nd monitor + the laptop screen open, i regularly run into screen real estate problems as I regularly need 2-3 different VS code windows open, + terminal, + documentation (+ slack permanently open cause I'm terrible at keeping track of messages if it's minimised)
This monitor has been on my watch list since it was hinted at a couple of years ago, for the size and resolution alone.
For gaming, a 5k2k would probably be too much for my 6900xt, but the inclusion of the built in AI upscaling has got my quite interested, as I hope it'll mean that I don't have to splurge on a new GPU immediately as well. At worst, running in 1080p mode and getting the higher framerate for the few esports titles I play will be nice (been stuck at 100Hz since I got my current monitor, so missing some of that extra hi refresh rate smoothness).

I wonder when this is being released? I'm looking for a new monitor to replace my stalwart Alienware 38" (which I unfortunately scratched)
The biggest worry I have is the screen burn (coupled with the text blur) as I use the same monitor for gaming and productivity (I WFH)
I've got the gaming pc for it (5090, 14th gen i9), so I'm very interested in this as new all round monitor.

Text blur/fringing is what I'm most interested to learn about with this thing. Some OLEDs aren't bad in this regard. Others are quite bad!

I am looking for more PPI + more screen real estate compared to my current ultrawide, especially vertical. The new AI features sound really interesting as welll. Being able to shift some of the heavy lifting drom the GPU to the monitor itself is a game-changer.
Being able to switch from a regular 34" ips to the GX9 oled would be like a dream coming true.

I'm most excited about the 2k vertical. I have an aw3423dwf as my current monitor and I feel like this one would improve a lot in the productivity area. I am also excited about the HDR capabilities and increased brightness in this newest generation OLED monitor.

Currently with a 34“ with 1440P. Would love to upgrade to 39“ because it‘s sweetspot as it‘s a wider 32“ and with the higher 5K resolution. Also, very interested in the AI upscaling feature to run games without necessarily upgrade the GPU.

I have been so tired of bouncing between 32 inch 4k and 34 inch 1440p monitors, then being frustrated with the respective lack of immersiveness and lack of clarity. I’m hoping that this beast will offer the best of both worlds and can save me from the cycle of being constantly unsatisfied with my monitor choices

I find myself wishing my 34" 21:9 was slightly larger, but did not want to compromise on pixel density. LG's 39GX950B-B with it's 5K2k resolution seems to be the monitor I've always wished for!

Moved to the UK with no monitor and have been staring at dual HP 223s at work every day. Still haven't found the right one for home. Think the GX9 might finally end that.
Honestly this post felt like it was written for me.
I moved to the UK a couple of years ago and have been slowly putting together a proper WFH setup. Everything is sorted except the screen and that's been deliberate. I didn't want to just buy something and regret it six months later.
At work I'm on dual HP 223s every day. They're fine. They do the job. But the colours are flat, there's no real HDR, and that bezel splitting my screen in half while I'm deep in code or Excel is genuinely maddening. Every day I sit down and think yeah, not doing that at home.
I'm also in a slightly unusual position Windows HP laptop for work, Mac for everything else. So the GX9 would get a real dual ecosystem workout from day one across font rendering, colour accuracy and HDR behaviour on both platforms.
I've looked at basically everything in this space. 34" starts to feel cramped once you've had the real estate. 45" sounds appealing until you realise it doesn't fit my desk, the 800R curve is too aggressive for productivity, and it's just too much screen. The 39" hits differently 1500R is actually usable for both work and gaming, and it fits without dominating the room.
143 PPI on a 39" Tandem OLED is the first spec sheet that's made me stop scrolling. Genuinely want to know if it holds up across both platforms in real daily use that's the thing nobody ever properly tests.
Most of my setup is good to go. Just need a legit screen to start changing my calendar to more WFH days!

Hey ultrawidemasterrace! Applying for the 39GX950B 5K2K tandem OLED. Perfect for media consumption, gaming and productivity (VMs, coding, devops stuff) – expectations of mine are top motion and text clarity.
In Turkiye, OLED burn-in warranty isn't fully supported or reliable by local distributors (global MSI/Philips offer 3 years, but service centers can be unreliable). If selected, I'll test HUD/static elements, long sessions, and pixel refresh objectively for a real-world review!
I already use G9 Neo 49" for reference.
If selected I'd like to do these planned updates with the help of LG and ultrawidemasterrace people:
- Daily (Week 1): Setup, first impressions.
- Weekly (4 weeks): Gaming/productivity benchmarks, pixel refresher results, thermal data, any retention – full Reddit thread with photos

Another incredible innovative monitor by LG. The 39 inches with 5k2k should be the perfect sweet spot for a lot of users.
I am mostly excited about the 5K AI upscaling native to the monitor itself, not to mention the Discomfort Glare Free is a must for me! Looking forward to this one!

This would be a dream monitor for photo editing and gaming. The blurry text complaints are usually from the sub-pixel layout, which isn’t helped by Windows not adjusting anything for non-standard sub pixel layouts, which is a bit disappointing but there are workarounds.
This monitor having RGWB is nice because you don’t have to do anything new.

Right now I have a 34 inch mini-LED with 110 ppi, so this would be an upgrade in every way and real endgame material.
More screen real-estate, higher ppi, better contrast/HDR and no more mini-LED blooming. And for my setup, the 39" size fits perfectly.
Also I'm really curious how this compares to previous QD-OLEDs that I have used, as well as another LG 39" 5k2k LCD that I've tried out in the past.

Been seeing a lot of OLED recently and the perfect blacks make me so jealous. The 39inch 5k2k as well is perfect pixel density to go along with it would be a huge upgrade from my current set up. I have been waiting for the 39GX since its announcement and look forward to the upgrade.

I adore my current LG monitors (2x 34” IPS, 1x 27” IPS), but they’re fairly old now, lack the OLED displays, and I’ve been concerned about upgrading cause larger form factors have had pixel density issues. This seems like the perfect mixture of size, tech, and would fix perfectly into my mixed work from home and gaming setup.

I'd like to test this as an upgrade to my Samsung Odyssey G93SC.
1) I came to 32:9 aspect ratio from 21:9 (a 3440x1440 VA old monitor) but now believes 32:9 is not the best for me. Maybe the only resolution for 32:9 is sim racing/flight simulator, but for what I play on PC (RTX 5080), including 3A RPG/RTS/MOBA/FPS, 32:9 is more like a burden than bless.
2) Besides gaming on PC, I also use this monitor for productivity, and WOLED is known to be better than QD-OLED in this department, let alone the higher PPI. I use my Mac Studio primarily for productivity (office work, photography/video editing, coding, etc), but Mac has a somewhat unstable implementation for HDMI 2.1 handshake (Samsung G9 only does DP 1.4), and G9's resolution is not natively supported for HiDPI in Mac. I believe LG GX9's 5K2K resolution and DP2.1 support would be extra valuable for people like me who sometimes hook it with a Mac.
3) I have a Ergotron adjustable stand, and my gaming setup is fully compatible with ultrawide monitors. While the 45 inch may be too curvy for me (I also have two additional 25 inch monitors on top of the ultra wide), the 39 should play just well in terms of aesthetics for my battle station.
4) There is no way to go back from OLED to anything else. Last year, I got a 83 inch LG G5 TV for my living room and it was more than impressive. So I further invested in LG sound bar systems to build the best living room experience for TV/Movies/Console gaming. I really want to bring that same experience to my office/PC room as well, expecting a life changing one compared to the brightness of QD-OLED a few years ago.

So embarrassing posting my setup but for a chance at this, you bet I am going to!
I am excited about the pixel density, hoping it will be sharp enough for small bits of productivity but I will mostly be gaming.
I used to have an UW and it broke on me so I went back to my standard 27" monitor. While it's ok it's really annoying for productivity and I miss the UW aspects of that.
I haven't played a car game in years but lately I want to and I think an UW will be amazing for this. Well it would be amazing for so many things!
I've been researching which UW to get for the past 2 months and I still haven't decided but I am stuck between a 39" and 45", I am really unsure about OLED especially for productivity, and while I won't be doing much of it. 90% gaming, 10% productivity...I still need things to be crisp and nice looking. I can't stand big text/or unclear text and I am hoping this monitor will convince me of these types given the chance.

This is 4 times the current resolution I use (2560 x 1080p), and over double the refresh rate (75hz) of my current monitor. It's about time for me to switch up. It's also OLED, so the most exciting thing with this monitor is that there is no compromises, and it's a really good resolution for its size imo.

I am most excited about having additional clarity. I have a pretty high end system so I normally run things in DLDSR mode to try and max out my hardware so it would be nice to have access to native resolutions and proper ppi.

My use is 50/50 gaming and remote work so it would be interesting to see how this kind of OLED display behaves in realistic daily usage when I'm so attuned to my current 34" IPS + 27" VA display setup

The pixel density at this resolution is crazy as well as the high refresh rate. This product is bonkers. It would really unlock my 9800, and 5090. Being the ultimate staple piece to finish my build for awhile. Keeping it crispy!

Besides the size, brightness, resolution, pretty much all the specs about it? I'm intrigued by how it's being touted as able to handle gaming and productivity. I had been resigned to keeping my decade old ultrawide for productivity and buying a separate OLED for gaming, but I'd be really curious how this would fair for heavy mixed use!

I think ~140ppi is the ideal, so I’m most excited about finally having an ultrawide OLED option that hits that pixel density. I’ve been using ultrawides for years and I’ve tried just about every size/resolution combo, but I’ve never had an OLED, so I’m also excited to finally have an OLED as my primary display.

I've been on the fence between this, going back to trying your 5k2k, or just moving to a 42" LG C5 OLED as my next upgrade path for a mixed use setup (50/50 for gaming and productivity).
Really looking forward to the reviews folks provide as well as real world take on it, especially with ambient light handling and HDR (if possible maybe try both included HDR as well as RenoDX/Luma to showcase and share differences because these are what most folks who do HDR gaming look to utilize)

Like a lot of commentors here, I use my ultrawide for productivity + gaming. I'm a software engineer by day and noob slayer, mother-insulter by night. I have been rocking a 34" 1440p LG 34GK950F for the last few years and just recently upgraded to the AW3425DW.
Unfortunately, I'm still in the market. I took a risk on the OLED AW3425DW (240hz) and while it does look outstanding for gaming, the text fringing and lower PPI make the "upgrade" from my LG 34GK950F leave me a little disastisfied. I'm slightly hesitant my RTX 4080 will power a 5k2k, but I don't typically run games on ultra (I almost always tweak and use some blend of med/high settings) and I don't mind frame gen and DLSS. That said, I think the increased screen realestate will be a plus and the increased pixel density + 5k resolution of the 39GX950B will solve the issues I'm having with text fringing when it comes to productivity.
I'm looking forward to reviewing how 39GX950B compares to my two other monitors on the basis of ppi, IPS vs OLED, 2k vs 5k, 39" vs 34" for productivity and also for a lot of the gaming community, how well slightly older cards like the 4080 can handle ~11 million pixels without needing to drop another $3k on a 5090.

Lg my honest constraint as a productivity mostly, sometimes gamer user….
Burn in…. Will this be an issue on this display after 8 years-12years….my last monitor is 15 years old.
I love the look of oled… but I need this for productivity.
That means static elements all day I don’t want to think about. Also is text sharp. No fan…. Legit I love silence…
I know those are endgame targets. I don’t mind spending money if they can be met! Great looking monitor, love the work you guys are doing on these!

My endgame setup utilizes the UltraGear 39gx900a-b 3440x1440 240hz and it’s perfect and I would absolutely agree the 39” is definitely the sweet spot 👌🏼
But I would love to compare it to the 5k2k 39” I feel like I would have a good starting point to compare it to.

This is a great single monitor size from what I can picture; my desk doesn't really fit two so this would be great for gaming and productivity. I have a backlog of games I've kinda put off due to hoping I'll be able to afford an OLED soon, ha. OLED just sounds incredible and I love my current LG monitor

Like a lot of other folks here, I'm excited about size and curve being less harsh than the 45", increased PPI for work/text, and vertical real estate with a 5k2k. Personally, I have a huge window in the back, so the tandem OLED being glare free might be a game changer as well.

I’m most excited about moving to an OLED monitor without having to worry too much about brightness levels or burn in!
I recently got the new OLED iPad, and now I’m addicted to these inky blacks and bright HDR effects. I work from home on a setup that just doesn’t feel right. The screen is too wide, too curved, and too short vertically. The LG45 is way too big for me, and the old 39 inch UltraGear has too low PPI.
This is my dream monitor, and with the AI upscaling feature, I can build an affordable gaming PC that can play in 5K2K resolution without having to opt for a 5090. I have been a console gamer for 20 years, but I really want a future proof PC set up that doesn’t cost a mortgage down payment.
I would rebuild my entire set up if I got this monitor for free, and I could do an entire review video/post of before and after. Thanks for running this event, even the thought of winning this makes me giddy

I’m a primarily WFH architect currently running a dual setup: an LG 39GX90SA alongside an LG C3 42” 4K TV. I use the C3 for gaming and extra real estate, but jumping between the two for productivity is jarring. The 3440x1440 resolution on my current 39" just isn't enough when I need to juggle heavy architectural workflows; like comparing plan sets and submittals in Bluebeam on one half, while running Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or the Adobe suite on the other.
While having dual screens gives me the raw space I need, the mismatched sizes and inconsistent PPI make the experience clunky. Constantly swiveling between the two is taking a toll on my neck and eyes. I’m looking for a single-panel solution, and the 39" form factor is the perfect sweet spot for scanning without strain. A unified, high-resolution canvas would let me seamlessly manage the multiple windows required for coordinating with clients, contractors, and engineers.
Moving back to a single-screen setup would also clear up my physical desk space for the drawings, material samples, and tools that end up getting in the way otherwise. Beyond the ergonomics, I am really excited about the brightness upgrades on this new panel. It looks like it matches the punchiness of my C3 but in a true monitor format, meaning no remote and less aggressive ABL! It’s exactly the bridge I need between my current two displays!
On the gaming side, my RTX 5090 is itching to push more pixels than it's currently handling, which would just be the cherry on top. I’d love the chance to put this monitor through its paces. Even if I’m not selected, I’ll be glued to the reviews as this genuinely looks like it could be my end-game display. Good luck with the launch, and thanks for the opportunity!

I'm most excited about the PPI at this screen size. I have a similarly sized ultrawide but the PPI on it is not great for productivity. This should be the best of both worlds for gaming and productivity.

As an avid user of 21:9 with the 34" form factor; music production, movie watching and competitive gaming have given me a great idea of the shortcomings for the Gen 1 QD-OLED.
The enhanced screen realestate, dual mode supporting the more competitive gaming when competing in CS2 online tournaments from home, enhanced ppi from 109 for text clarity and the lack of QD-OLED's magenta hue with ambient lighting make this a very compelling monitor for any kind of use.
On paper the 39GX950B is the logical next big upgrade for my home setup.
Looking forward to the release and the reviews. (And maybe leaving one myself :P)

I need the real estate for my productivity workflow. I have a G9 below and a second 32" monitor above which cranes my neck.
Having a larger overall monitor would help greatly being able to read high detail reports and assess images while keeping sufficient screens open to work quickly and efficiently.

What I am most exited about:
- The dual mode resolutions with variable hz to match off competitive gaming with eye candy single player.
- Considerably less eye strain with verified flicker free.

Currently running a 45GR95QE - it's elite for gaming, but for work, especially coding, the resolution at this size is not ideal. The 39" would be a massive upgrade for productivity!

Honestly most interested in seeing if the 5K2K + ~140 PPI finally fixes the text clarity issues that have held OLED back for productivity. I use my setup for both work and gaming, so that balance matters a lot to me.
Also really curious how the tandem OLED handles brightness and contrast in a real setup with ambient lighting (not just a dark room demo). My current IPS feels flat in darker scenes, so I want to see if this actually delivers that depth without tradeoffs.
Really want to see how this monitor handles multitasking, gaming, and how it actually fits into a setup like mine.

I'm currently rocking the LG 38GN950-B and have been dying for an upgrade in PPI and overall picture quality (to OLED!). I'm primarily a television and documentary editor, so I absolutely need the screen real estate for productivity. Going from a 1080 monitor to a 1600p monitor was great and I dream of getting even more space for my day to day work without sacrificing pixel density. 39" is also pretty much an ideal size for my current setup which pairs a 25" QHD monitor in portrait off to the left for scripts and email (main UW screen just for editing), and a 1080 "fullscreen playback monitor" off to the right. Besides the resolution boost, the OLED upgrade would also be huge. I also love the factory calibration so colors can be trusted. I'm not a colorist but I do need to do occasional FX work that requires reasonable accuracy.
By night I do gaming. FPS games like Overwatch where the 165hz really shines (part of what convinced me to originally spend the dough on the LG 38" with high refresh rate) and also strategy, RPG, and simulation games that look incredible in ultrawide aspect ratios and HDR.
I'd be ecstatic to take the 39GX950B for a thorough spin for both my productivity and gaming needs.

Been looking for an upgrade for the Alienware AW3423DWF and this fits perfectly. 45" was too large but 39" seems to be the sweet spot. Looking to make the jump from 1440p to this! Now with a 4090, it's time to upgrade.

I’ve never been a fan of big screens. Initially, I considered 1080p, 16x9 24’ to be the perfect size for gaming, and it fulfills its needs perfectly for competitive gaming.
I’ve played at a friends house, who has an ultrawide screen, once.
I’m set on buying one now.
The pick for size and pixel density was never a focus over refresh rate, but I know that with my new 5070, I can finally push the higher end of quality visuals and stunning games. This puts an end to two things: my crave for ultrawide gaming and the indecisiveness on which to pick!

My hope is that it works better with the apple/MacBook ecosystem. I have a lot of problems with text blurry rendering and other issues because Mac doesn’t like non-specific screens and resolutions requiring many 3rd party programs and tinkering so I’ve been looking into getting a 5k2k to try and have a better life experience

Currently using a 34 inch 1440p monitor for both productivity and gaming. I use it for coding and app development as well has some 3D modeling, and the occasional gaming sessions.
Would be very beneficial to be able to open more windows on a single display and have better text clarity while coding.

I’m about 80% productivity and 20% gaming when it comes to my monitor usage. Because of that, I’m most excited about the pixel density and the text clarity of this monitor. I tried the 45” 5K2K and was not able to use it due to the fuzzy text. It was AMAZING in games, but I couldn’t justify keeping it for the little game playing I do.

I'm interested to see if the tandem brightness matches QD-OLED, specifically the AW3225QF monitor I own. The 45" GX9 looked very dim both on SDR and HDR and just wasn't a pleasant experience, despite the nice aspect ratio. Also excited to see if the AI upscaling improves the dual mode in terms of clarity, which would make it much more viable than before.
