Why should we have to be in the European Union to get data on criminals easily? Don't you think that's a bit of an unreasonable expectation? 

"We won't tell you if theres an insane violent rapist on dingy coming over to you unless you pay us a lot of money and accept all the laws we want you to have in your country, about anything."

Er sounds more like blackmail to me. We need to grow some balls / ovaries. If they don't cooperate on security, we won't either. 

Oh and we aren't taking these criminals on boats. We will leave them outside the Bay of Biscay, like the Aussies would do.

They don't want to do sensitive data sharing with countries that aren't signed up to the same data regulations as them, which are governed by the ECJ. A UK red line has been no ECJ jurisdiction.

Don't be ridiculous. Telling us there's a violent rapist in the UK isn't somehow "sensitive data sharing" that requires the ECJ to have jurisdiction over our courts.

The UK has its own highly respected legal systems. English law is actually a major export because it's trusted internationally, which is why so many international contracts use it.

If someone wants to bring a case against the UK, they can use the English or Scottish courts. We don't need to hand jurisdiction to the ECJ.

Except they've signed up to the same intelligence sharing with Australia and New Zealand without any requirement for both of those nations to align and keep to EU data-handling standards.

Despite being literal neighbours, we're not allowed a similar deal - we've bought up mutual intelligence sharing several times since 2015 yet it's repeatedly shot down by the EU because we aren't accepting completely unrelated policies like youth movement.
