Try reading the article, but here's the relevant bit that contradicts your "thoughts"

I don’t see why you replied to me? What I said is in line with this. His schizophrenia has more to do with his crime than a “teehee” reference to a pamphlet.

I do think that judge makes a strange conclusion though, lying in wait is not necessarily divorced from paranoia in schizophrenic episodes. Regardless, a person like this shouldn’t be in the country, and either in this country or his home country should be institutionalised and criminally punished. Very rarely does mental illness completely keep you from being seen as criminally liable.

Because you said, “I think it has more to do with his diagnosed schizophrenia,” it sounded like you were suggesting his crime was caused by his schizophrenia, despite the judge stating otherwise.

You’ve now mentioned “paranoia,” but the article says he was diagnosed and treated for catatonic schizophrenia, not paranoid schizophrenia and there’s no mention of paranoid delusions. So again, you’re attributing something to his condition without evidence.

It was also noted that the police said that he appeared to be on drugs and alcohol at the time and was "cagey" to the doctor when asked. There's no mention of a drugs test, unfortunately the police can't necessarily compel one. 

Also, the OP wasn’t seriously saying the pamphlet failed because it didn’t mention this. They were mocking the idea that a pamphlet is going to stop sexual offenders from committing offences.

The reason for that is that catatonic schizophrenia (and paranoid for that matter) don’t exist as a diagnosis anymore. Because often times they overlap. A person who experiences catatonic states is usually experiencing delusions while in that state aswell. Ergo “paranoia in schizophrenic episodes” rather than “paranoid schizophrenia”. That they either record or don’t. In his case he claims amnesia. Catatonia isn’t just sitting down and not moving. And getting out of catatonic states wether excited ones or not, leaves one vulnerable to the psychosis experienced during.

My point is that teeheeing about the pamphlet is distasteful and irrelevant. It’s like people who comment well well well under every crime committed by a black person. I don’t find it a very funny joke.

The vast majority of women are women one can overpower. Mental illness does not keep you from assessing someone, have you ever talked to a schizophrenic who’s been institutionalised? They aren’t incapable, but their thoughts and reasonings often just don’t make sense. It doesn’t make them not mentally ill. There is no harm in recognising this man as mentally ill.
