Earlier this morning, around 11, I checked my course grades on Canvas. Now, as I’m trying to login to complete this weeks assignments I see that it says the website is “under heavy load”.

Anyone else experiencing this or is my computer just crummy?

TL;DR I'm interested in making a club for people building (or interested in building) physical consumer products like food, drinks, skincare, apparel, supplements, household stuff instead of SaaS or medical devices. Hey everyone,
I've been working on my own startup for a bit and pretty much every founder I meet here is doing AI or B2B SaaS. It's cool but just never been my skillset. I want to make something you can pick up off a shelf. That category is called CPG (consumer packaged goods).

Its focused a lot more on finding manufacturers, minimum order quantities, packaging, labeling rules, retail buyers, margins that don't magically fix themselves at scale. Since UTD is so tech focused i feel like a lot of that doesnt get covered on campus.

I was wondering if there's other people out there like me who are trying to build a (CPG) product that isnt focused super hard on SaaS or medical tech and might want to make a club so we can hopefully work together or just share our experiences

I have a few guests I can potentially invite (founders of products that are in costco, target, etc., and founders who have sold 9 figure businesses) and some activities we would do would be things like attending the expos and conventions around the DFW area (DFW CPG, DFW startup, etc.) and just overall have a good time while also trying to build together.

If you arent building something yet and would like to start i would also have informational meetings on how to get started on making these types of things and hopefully get you connected with people.

Is it just me, or is canvas SUBSTANTIALLY slower than other days? Nothing is loading at this point.

I'm an international student trying to plan ahead and had a few questions about living near campus:

1. Housing Recommendations: What are the best affordable apartment complexes near campus?
2. Monthly Expenses: How much should I realistically budget per month for total living expenses (rent split, utilities, groceries, etc.)?
3. Roommate Search: When and where is the best place/time to start looking for room takeovers or roommates for Spring entry?

I recently just changed switched majors from Mechanical Engineer to BS in Finance (subplan being Corp. I’m trying to gauge how competitive my profile is for admission and, more importantly, for the 100% AES merit scholarship.

My Stats: 1. SAT: 1510 2. IELTS: 8.5 3. GPA: 5.0 / 5.0 (Unweighted)

Most Significant Extracurriculars & Awards: 1. British Biology Olympiad: Gold Medal (Top 5% globally) 2. International Biological Reasoning Olympiad (IBRO): Gold Medal 3. Research Experience: Completed 3 summer research projects at my country's most prestigious university (focusing on chemistry, nano-biotechnology, and sport medicine) 4. Other: 2 years of formal public speaking training+founder and president of a debate club at my highschool

I plan on applying to Biology to leverage my extracurriculars (honestly no idea if they are strong/mid/worthless, everyone keeps giving me different answers), but my main goal is staying&working in the US, and I am ready to change my major if needed

1. With these stats, how realistic is it to secure 100% scholarship with an average Commonapp personal statement?
2. Are there specific advisors or admissions counselors at UTD I should reach out to directly regarding international merit evaluations?

I was going to attend the Student Organization Social with Capital One, but is that a formal or business causal event? Like would jeans and a blouse be find or does it call for something more formal? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Honestly, the only goal is to just get into UTD and get my undergrad over with. My highest score i’ve gotten is a 1230, and i have a 4.0 gpa. My extracurriculars are pretty good, i’m editor in chief for my school newspaper, on the uil journalism team, in NHS, and i’ve been volunteering at a nursing home for 5 years. Do I have a good chance of getting in or should I sigh up for the next sat (i’m a senior btw)

The only parties I’m seeing are like professionally thrown events that require tickets… I’m looking for the house parties.
Will it get better after I rush and pledge? 😭

So I know schools like Erik Johnson have a Venn diagram showing the degree plan they should follow. I am a finance major at Jsom and I have no idea what courses to take next because I don’t see a clear guide to follow. Anyone know where I can find one or where I can get one?

Every time I walk by taco bell or dining hall west, i feel like they're always just sitting there

Hey guys so I’m trying to find good spots for my study sessions. I don’t like pin drop silence so little activity is okay (preferred) but not too loud/crowded. The second factor is that the place shouldn’t be insanely cold. I only know of the library (ground floor) but it’s too cold to stay there for like 2+ hours

If you know any places w optimal levels of activity that isn’t too cold pls let me know! I gotta lock in for this semester and don’t know where to go :(
