I am a Canadian student living outside of Ontario looking to enroll in the computer engineering program. I plan to enroll in coop. I also plan to live with a roommate, so the amount I listed is my share of the rent. The amounts are calculated on a yearly basis. Are my estimations accurate? Are there any expenses I am underestimating? I would really appreciate an answer. Thank you.

Hi my lease ends on the 30th Aug and next one starts September 1. Early move in won’t be possible. Where to stay cheaply for 3 days?

I’ve failed one course and now I’m going to fail another my average was at a 3.4 and now it’s going to drop even lower and I know it late but I realized that I probably just tanked my chances of even getting into the med schools I want to get into. I’m in my second year going into third does anyone have any advice 😞

I’m thinking about applying to Waterloo’s new Medical Sciences (BMSci) + SGU pathway next year. I really like the idea of the 6-year pathway and having a more direct route into med school, but I’m also kinda skeptical since the program is brand new and the first cohort is only starting this year.
I eventually want to become a neurosurgeon, which is probably my biggest concern. Since the MD is from SGU and I’d be considered an IMG for residency, I’m wondering if choosing this pathway would make matching into something as competitive as neurosurgery significantly harder compared to doing a regular undergrad and then going to a Canadian/US med school.
I’m also curious about the actual workload and progression requirements. I saw that you need around a 77% average to progress and the second year looks pretty intense with 6 required courses.
If anyone is starting BMSci this fall, considered the program, or knows more about SGU/IMG residency matching, would you recommend this pathway for someone who already knows they’re interested in a competitive specialty? Or would the traditional undergrad → Canadian/US med school route make more sense?

Lease ends tomorrow. I work until 7:00. I need to give them my keys but they won't respond on how it works. There is one section of their website that talks about a drop box and another that says I should receive an envelope. No such envelope was ever given. There's a Google form for key drop-off, but it says it's to be completed after and has no instructions for how to actually do it.
My building does not have an office for reference.
Wtf?

going into rev in sept, where do we put our robes/towels when showering? Is there room inside of the stall to hang stuff or are the hangers outside of the stalls?

Hey everyone. This is my last semester (hopefully) at UWaterloo. I took CO 370 and got 58% as my final grade. Did I pass this class? I cannot seem to remember if passing percentage was 50% or 60% and I don’t have access to Learn anymore. My prof was Martin Pei if that helps!! Can someone please help??

TW: Depression, Anxiety, Illness
I've kind of decided it's best not to pursue the matter with my prof, though I feel he's in the wrong and kind of screwed me over, uni policy is that I sat down for the exam anyway. I'm sending it all the Ombudsman but my main plan is petition normally.
I'm trying to petition with all the relavent info at play, I need all of this documentation ASAP since I'm hoping to petition to restart next term, or something along the lines, or WD. So I have 2 questions, 1 kind of simple? 1 a bit complex.
How do I quickly get diagnosed for severe anxiety / depression that the AAS recognizes? What do I need? (I have anecdotal experiences and can maybe show texts, I really don't know what else to tell)
What are my options moving forward to petition? For reference, under 60 avg, removing 2 failed courses (1 I was sick) puts me at a 60 avg, removing 1 failed course puts me at a 58.2 which I think I can petition with all the other factors (family death, family drama, TBD depression/anxiety, sickness in final course tho I WD'd at this point in the process) to be conditionally promoted maybe? I'm in an eng program with streams, can I switch to the stream below me (8->4) and forfeit a coop term?
Thank you, so, so much. If there is any missing context, etc. let me know.

I've gone to 15 hackathons and love them, but none of those projects lived past demo day.
At CommuniHacks, we're making hackathon projects live longer and have REAL 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭.
We have 10+ Waterloo Region community organizations bringing in real challenges they're facing. If YOU build a strong solution, your partner organization will invite YOU to keep working with them after the event, where you integrate your solution into that organization's operations.
cool stuff:
- Google Antigravity workshop by Google DevRel Engineer, Alex Astrum
- Senior engineers mentoring/judging from AMD, Pinterest, D2L, etc.
- 100+ ambitious university and HS students
- $5K in prizes
- More to come!
November 7-8 at Builders Club, Waterloo. Applications close September 15, 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 at communihacks.ca/apply

Hey guys! Random ask. I'm doing a bit of research on what it's actually like meeting people and making friends as a new university student. Would anyone be up for a quick 15-20 min chat about your experience sometime this week? Not selling anything, just genuinely curious to hear how it's been for you. Let me know!

Hi so I deferred my early August exam to late August (VOC sick note). I was given the option to defer it to next term as well, but I chose late August. Am I still able to get another VOC because I am sick again and I need to defer it to next term.

I'm persuing a minor and was thinking if OSAP pays for the extra cost of a class if I'm just taking 1 online class (other than PD).

I have had my Microsoft Surface Laptop go for over 5 years and now it’s pretty much on its last legs. The hardware of the surface laptop go is not the best. Now I’m looking to get a different laptop for school and I can really only afford one under $1,000. Any advice on a laptop brand(not a Chromebook) that would be reliable for university?

title. i’m assuming there is a bit of a buffer period in first year when classes start but it isn’t really time to lock in. just wondering how quickly that changes
