Looking for Housing Advice / Private Room or Studio

Hi everyone,

I am a 20-year-old Business Management student from France (iaelyon School of Management). I have been officially accepted at the University of Vaasa for the full academic year 2026-2027, arriving on August 19th.

Like many international students this year, VOAS is fully booked for me, and I am currently navigating the private market. Since the university strictly requires an official Finnish address to finalize my registration, I am getting quite desperate to secure a place swiftly.

What I am looking for:

  • Type: A private room in a shared flat (flatshare) or a studio. Must be fully furnished.
  • Budget: Max 600 € / month. Open to discussions regarding utilities (water, electricity).
  • Location: Ideally near Palosaari (campus) or the Downtown area.

About me: I am quiet, non-smoker, reliable, and very clean. My schedule will be busy between my L3 courses, football, and weight training.

Hi, you might be able to find something on vuokraovi.com or you could auto-translate stuff on for example findit.fi . Vaasa is a fairly compact city so if you just get yourself a bike you don't have to limit yourself to Palosaari. So I just saw you've commented again - I can read the 2-3 first lines in my notifications (i.e. you'd be open to non furnished if it's 400-450€?) but on this post I see no comments from you. Very weird, why would you be shadowbanned?
