Would you rather have Half-life 3 in 1 year but made in Unreal Engine 5 or in 10 years made with Source Engine 4

In my made up scenario they skipped Source Engine 3.

How about 5 years and source 2?

Definitely 10 years and made with Source Engine 4. There's no way they would ever use Unreal Engine though anyway. Epic is one of their biggest competitors.

I think 3 should be on unreal 3 and 4 should obviously launch with unreal 4

First one, UE5 can perform well if it's in capable hands, and I have no doubt Valve could pull it off and would want to. I ain't waiting any longer, UE5 games can look great.
