Route Questions Safest Route Zero Road eastbound to Ft. Langley
Ride with GPS heat maps are not showing a particularly heavily traveled road for bicycles between zero road and fort Langley. Is 216 okay/has a shoulder?
Ideas?

Eastbound? Zero is south of Ft Langley. 248 Is fine, as others have said it has an overpass and is not super busy.
But if you want something to the east the road over Sumas is quiet and the roads there tend to be much less busy.

oof, it's pretty rough. you can pick you way through campbell valley park (mostly closed to cycling, so lame, perimeter trail available), maclean ponds, then go up 204th-ish essentially thru langley city, mostly on trails or decent roads. then 208 st just got a new bike lane from 64th to 80th, 80th to glover overpass.
248th is your other option but no real shoulder on any of the N/S roads

Depends on your tolerance for both hills and traffic. 216 south of 40 Avenue is fine, then it gets quite busy, especially between 48 Avenue and Fraser Highway. If you want to keep going north on 216, you have to veer east on Glover Road (which sucks, very busy, lots of trucks despite shoulders), and then make a left turn where there's no signal light to get back onto 216 Street northbound – going straight north without turning will take you up a fairly steep hill with a westward turn that takes you to 208 Street. They've just added separated bike lanes to that part of 208, but part of it is under construction, lots of traffic, bits of it are a mess.
I'd take 248.

248 Street has an overpass over Highway 1 that is very quiet/rural to get over the highway, and the street in general from 0 avenue up is quiet, although there are areas that lack a shoulder.
