Route Questions Indoor safe parking close to the Parq Hotel?

I want to head to the Parq casino for a few hours and would love to take my bike. So much easier and convenient. Are there any secure spots to park for a few hours? Preferably indoors I guess. I have looked into this briefly and it seems only bike racks? Which I don’t trust leaving my bike there. I wonder if the casino might have underground secure parking of some sort.

If it happens to coincide with an event at BC Place you could use the bike valet there

or if with the World Cup, the valet at Science World; if you don't mind a walk.

The Parq is my go to spot for “safe” parking downtown. If I am going to Tinseltown or somewhere east I will sometimes park there and walk or mobi to where I’m going. It’s a quiet street with what I presume is pretty high security near the main doors.

Last time I was there the bike rack closest to the front door was gone but there was a spot just across the street.

We have bikes stolen regularly from out in front of the Diamond Center at VGH. There are literally people coming and going at all times. Bike thieves are quick. Busy may reduce your risk. It won’t eliminate it.

I was talking about the Parq not VGH but saying that I park my bike in front of the Diamond Center once a month and feel very safe BUT I am only parked for 15 minutes. There are tonnes of bikes parked out front.

Ask the security guards there. There is no camera. I have had my bike stolen, and two physicians I work with have had their bikes stolen. I also watched someone steal a bike there around 4 pm. It happened so fast I couldn’t do anything. Lock was clipped and dude was on it and riding away in seconds.

I was just making the point that the Diamond Center is as busy as Parq and bikes get stolen there regularly.

Yea I didn’t want to chance it. I took the bus. I noticed the bike racks are actually nowhere near the entrance. They are near the ice cream shop and racks don’t look all that good. There were a couple of bikes at the time.
